I am looking for a 4 string ATK bridge to buy or trade.Doesn"t have to be perfect but in good shape.I will purchase or I have a 5 string bridge in excellent shape I can trade or sell.Thanks you guys.Got a little ATK fretless thing I'm working on.Don't tell Funkfactor.

Check the thread on the last ATK blowout for a member who was going to replace his bridge on his red sparkle with a Ric bridge.

I was wondering who that might have been. Those necks are a hell of an upgrade for the price.


@ Greg .... have ya thought about just getting the original bridge re-plated?....or.... you can get it powder coated black and I'll trade you the one on the 3EX1 that you sold me :D

....and what's up with the not tellin' me thang :ninja:

Yep Funkfactor ordered a maple and I ordered a rosewood so you guys will get a full report when we slap them on.I'm going to put mine on a 95er I just bought.

I haven't. I set a slight maybe 1.5 mm relief in the neck measured at the 12th fret and have the bridge saddles set for the curve of the neck so E and G set pretty low D set up from that and A set the highest. I find this to be a pretty standard setup on most basses unless they have a flatter neck radius. My Atk had a recent fret level and crown though.

Hope that makes sense.

if you are having problems, you can buy radius gauges from Stew-Mac. I have some, but honestly, the fretwire should follow the radius of the board...so I take a measurement from the top of the fret to the bottom of the string at the 12th fret (usually I set it @2mm-3/16"). Once they are all set, I may lower the G & D strings just a whisker more. At that point, I'm going more by feel and if I am having any buzzing going on. Also, you may like your action higher than what I am using for an example, but the same principle would apply, regardless.

No problems at all with my late model ATK305. Buzz a bit of "fret sprout" off a couple of fret ends, polish the back of the neck to 2000 grit, widen the B string slot in the nut. Set a mild relief, arc of the saddles following the fretboard radius, height to taste. Done.

Mind you, the 35" fiver in my sig is 1 7/8" wide at the nut, with 17mm centre-to-centre spacing at the bridge and a 9-12" conical radius fingerboard, so given the similarities, the ATK felt like fairly familiar territory to me, right out of the box.

I have a brand new one to get rid of if someones looking for one complete with mounting screws.Make an offer trade,ect.I went with another plan involving a 4 string.Don't you hate when you can't make up your mind.Thanks

I was rehearsing material for tomorrow morning, and found myself using the neck pickup on my ATK again.

Both pickups blended, to round out the low end on a bright, "stadium rock" EBMM tone with the treble boosted on one song, and the neck pickup solo'd for a big, fat ampeg-y tone on a Starfield tune.

What I originally saw as a gimmick, is turning out to be pretty useful. Of course, I can use the active EQ to dial in more bottom with the bridge pickup, but this adds a different flavour.

I just locally sold the third ATK305 that I've owned in the past year. It was a transparent black '96 "FC" serial number that was the lightest of the three fivers I've owned at 10 lbs 2 oz. I keep going back to ATK's because they sound great, play fantastic and just feel right. Within an hour of selling the fiver I purchased a "previously owned" ATK 4-string that I've been watching for almost two months. It will be my first ATK 4-string and I should have it by Saturday.

I'll post up a pic of my new-to-me ATK once I've got it in my hands. I have yet to see one like it posted on TB.

Checkin' into some Hipshot HB-1's for my Bunker neck....pondering about converting the original to fretless.
Which pickguard .... Greg replaced the matte black original with a gloss black before he sold it to me
I'm thinkin' either tort or mirrored...leanin' towards the tort....dunno...black and chrome with the mirror would be kickin' too :hmm:
Most def installing a Glock with the original pickup

All I need is some mo' money :)
