hmm.. i just got the bass for 3 mos, wood/neck warping is not a common issue where im from (Philippines)..
the luthier is also suggesting the same thing, maybe thats what we will do sometime in the future..

am i the only one having problems w/ the ATK neck?

Well I have purchased 2 ATK's in the last 3 months, 1 new and 1 used. Both had great necks. if you purchased your bass new from a dealer then it should be reapaired under warranty (they have a 1 year warranty I believe) If you purchased it used,then you will have to pay for the repair.

i have a mint atk 750 koa that i picked up for CHEAP. I gigged with her for about 2 years. i am thinking of selling it, cause it just sits there untouched. i really dont know what its worth or even how much they cost new when they were in production. any help would be awesome.

There is one in the Talkbass classifieds now for $425 shipped, which is a very good price. The street price when new was $700 I think.

Speaking of the 750, I recently picked up a -750QM (right) to go with my -500. I'm really liking it, the neck is great and all 5 pickup selector positions are useful to me. Can't wait to try it at next rehearsal.

I just got back from Tokyo 2 days ago where I picked up an ATK1200 prestige.. All I can say is wow, what a phenomenal bass.

The body is a beautifully matched 2pc, the neck is absolutely to die for, it and finish on this bass is impeccable, I've got 2 fender custom shop basses and in all honesty the prestige bass is on par with them in build quality.

I had one of the newer ATK200 basses and.. It was good for what it cost.. Looking at the specs on paper I couldn't figure out why the 1200 cost 3X the price, now I do, it feels and plays like a top level pro instrument, perfectly balanced.

The pickup system is great, you can get nice 60s and 70s jazz bass sounds out of it, stingray sounds and even some that get close to a ric.

Love this bass! On paper $1400 looks like a lot for what it is, in hand.. It's CHEAP for what it is!
