Well, I backed all the way up to the last time Justin assigned numbers and looked for anyone that requested membership. Now, I'm not sure how everyone feels about the whole "club" thing so if you asked for a number, I gave you one. I'm not going to assume someone wants a number just because they bought an ATK and posted a pic. Like I said though, if I missed you we'll get it straightened out a.s.a.p.

I'm looking into buying an ATK (again), but I'm a bit confused by the apparently new ATK200 model on the German Ibanez website:

It appears to have the same basic features and electronics as the ATK300 (even the triple-coil pickup) but has a slightly different body shape and is cheaper.
Is this the new little brother or the successor of the ATK300? Has anyone had their hands on this model yet or has more info?

Looks like the same bass with a different approach for the pickup. Regular ATKs use a 3 coil pickup (MM style 2 coils + phantom configuration). This is different, it's like having 2 hambuckers (together in one routed hole), you can use one, the other or both hambuckers (don't know if this is series or parallel). I haven't heard it so I can't comment on its sound.
Hey guys! I need to ask a question. I've had my 305 for some 3 months and put a Hipshot D-tuner on its B string almost immediately after having the bass. Thing is the D-tuner (MusicMan type) is just a bit too bulky and had to slightly enlarge the axis' hole, use only 2 plate screws (not to drill additional holes on the headstock) and also had to cut the adjustment screw (it now can go 2 semitones down max) as it would hit the neighbouring tuner. Is there an alternative to Hipshot's D-tuner that could fit 5 string ATKs better? Thanx so much!

hi guys, thinking of jumping into the ATK pond..... any out there with experience on an ATK with rosewood fingerboard? as opposed to the maple ones.
Looks like they are addressing 2 of the most common complaints about ATK's...weight and not enough difference in tone from the selector switch. Very interesting, I hope this makes it to the states. It sort of seems like the 200 is to the ATK, what the Sterling is to the Stingray.
For the record, I haven't personally experienced either of the "complaints" I mentioned. My 2 are both pretty light, and have plenty of tonal variation.
Thanks for the link, it seems like a cool bass and it's good to see Ibanez still has new ideas for the ATK that are more than cosmetic and don't seem to cheapen it, but may be actual improvements in form and function. I wouldn't trade my 700 or 750 for one, but I think I would love to have one as a backup or for a change of pace w/o being too different.
After finding out that the ATK200 has a different pickup (thanks again for the link!) I went ahead and got myself an ATK300-NT:
My ATK305's wiring cut out again so im taking it to get fixed up. Im looking at this in a positive light, would it be possible to have a push/pull tone pot added in to make it active/passive? How much would this potentially cost? Thanks in advance

I'd go to BestBassGear and compare the preamps. I know a TBr had a killer ATK the he put a Glockenklang preamp in that had the push/pull pot for active/passive. He posted a thread about it called "the ultimate ATK", or something along those lines. He gave a few details about how he went about all his mods & IIRC, he included before and after sound clips. Its worth looking for if you are thinking about that mod. I would search for it for ya, but I'm checking in from my phone.
I"ve seen that thread, really cool. I was wondering if it could be done without changing the preamp tho. if not ill wait till i can afford the pre and to get it installed.
