The ATK-100's do come up on ebay from time to time.

And they do have basswood bodies.

Interestingly, I'm pretty sure that my MIK ATK300 has a basswood body. It's seriously about half the weight of my very definitely ash 305, with a much less pronounced grain pattern. So there may be a few basswood 300's out there as well.

o definitely. ever since I got my ATK, I have been sure of the bigger bridge equalling bigger tone and longer sustain. compared to the other basses ive played, my ATK has the longest sustain of any of them. The big chrome is a turn off to many, but I like to think of it like a tele guitar....they have lots of chrome on the bridge, and are classic guitars

I don't mean to rain on the parade, but am I the only one that has had multiple quality problems with their ATK's? The first one I got had a defected truss rod and a bunch of wiring problems which Guitar Center exchanged with me for another one they had in stock in the store. The second bass had a defective fret job between the first and 3rd frets which caused horrible fret buzz only on the E and A strings. The tech at the store was unable to get rid of the buzz so they ordered me another one from another store. I was happy when I got it because it was still in the box. When I got it home I noticed that the neck was on a slight angle and it misaligned the fret markers down the neck. That was an easy fix, I loosened the neck and pulled it back into position and tightened it back up. Then I noticed that the bride was misaligned with the pickup placement to where it was actually touching the pickup only on one side. I loosened all of the screws and realigned it. When I went to tighten it up three of the holes had been stripped by the force of the strings pulling the bridge. Apparently the screws were never completely torqued down in the first place.
At least now the bass is in great playing condition and I do have to say that I LOVE my ATK, I'm using for a recording session this weekend.
The model I have had the issues with is the special Guitar Center model ATK3EXBK1.

I had no idea Ibanez put such high quality tops on their basses...Anyway, there's a great 5'er at Bass NW right now (no, I don't work for them...)

Very sweet black sparkle finish.

Supposedly this one retails for about $700. Anyone know how much these go for street value?
