proud owner of a 700 and a customised 400 (bassculture PU's and laquered neck)

the 400 is great for a somewhat rounder vintage tone and the 700 with it's stock PU is a real stingray killer, but lacks a bit of mids (nothing that the onboard Eq can't fix though!!)

Lowmid - could you tell me what you think of the Bassculture p/ups? I've heard some say they make the ATK sound more SR'ish, and others say that they are not as trebley as the stocks. I'm tempted to get one just for the sake of it, but I don't want to get something that's going to stop my bass sounding like an ATK (ie powerful and, well you know!). Also, what do the three positions on the switch sound like on the Basscultures? Thanks for your time, I've just never heard a clip of them

Mine has faded in spots the same way. All the blue ones did. Dave Bunker refers to it as the factory "mood ring" finish. :D I may get mine redone someday, I haven't decided.

I havent put my 2 ATK's photo's in yet, but after seeing this one I'm not sure my old black and orange Korean made 305's are going to matter! Sweet bass bro, let me know if you ever let her go??????

hey there, When I first got them I really loved them, but then it appeared the tone was vintaged, Ie less treble and more mids than the stock one. the tone seems more Passive (in terms of J and P basses, more woody) than the stock pickup but they still maintain the same growl voice . I love having both really! But I don't think they're an absolute must have, maybe if you think your atk doesn't cut through a mix enough, or if you fin the hi end too shrill. Stocks pickups are great, Basscultures are great but in a different way! buy a second atk:eek:
