Hey Plutonium, I will be very interested in hearing how you super midget combines with the BB2. Like you I am fast becoming a total Barefaced fanboy and am seriously considering adding a BB2 and super midget. My motives are purely hedonistic and selfish as the Four 10 does most things for me.
I just want a BB2 and a sensible option to convert it to a BT2 if necessary so the super midget or super compact would I suppose answer that call.
One other question to put out there - this will be my lighter rig and I would leave the tube heads out of it. I have the opportunity to buy a used GKMB800 but am not sure whether it would be too "solid state" for me. I cannot find a new or used MB Fusion 800 but can relatively easily source a TecAmp Puma 900. The other, considerably more expensive, temptation is a Jules Tardis. Oh and the Mesa Subway 800 is available here too.
Don't know exactly when I will be able to do all this but any advice is appreciated.

The amp situation is in reverse order though, I have been thinking about adding an all tube amp like a Fender Super Bassman to go on top of the silver-cloth Four10 I have (it will be a while since I just put a deposit on the SM). I currently have an MB Fusion 800 that I use for most things, and I like it with both the BB2 and Four10.

I'll let you know how I like the SM. Proof will be in the pudding, but in theory having a SM for smallish situations on its own, and as a companion to the BB2 to create a 2x12 set-up, seems like it would add a lot of options and versatility to my riggage with the addition of just the one amp.

And of course after all that, my goal might be to get a 12 ohm Two10 that I can combine with the Four10 to make a Six10, or on its own with the MB Fusion 800 (which will have enough power to push the 12 ohms without that being a limitation). I must say, it's nice to feel like a golfer-- I can size up the fairway and conditions, decide which cab club will best suit the situation, pull it out, and get to work.

Super Bassman with the Four 10 is amazing, but then the Four 10 is magic with every tube head I have combined with it - and I have a few. I would go with the GK MB800 I have been offered, but am a little worried that it may be too harsh for me and the Fusion 800 (not available over here, I would have to import) would be considerably better. I do like your logic. So many choices, so little time.....

Is it normal to not hear back for a while after putting down a deposit? I made a payment on Friday, and sent a "Hi, howya doin" email on Monday, and haven't heard anything this week. After reading the thread I'm expecting to wait a while for the cab, but I was kind of hoping to get at least a "We received your payment. We're really busy. Talk to you soon" or something. Wondering if there's a problem...

I, too, sent an e-mail this past Monday regarding a deposit and have not yet heard back. They may be on Summer holiday in the UK. I would not worry as Alex has proved himself very dependable in the past.

I made a deposit last Friday as well, but after close of business in UK. I emailed twice and messaged from the website and eventually got a "sorry, we have been really busy, but we did receive your order" email. Probably the only reason I got one where others didn't is that I was the squeaky wheel. Being a little nervous that it might not have gone through (due to a paypal question), and being a little anxious and neurotic, I emailed, messaged from the website, and emailed again.

So, long story short, they are just really busy this week.

I think they are now in a rush to catch up with finishing all orders they put on hold because of their issue with Eminence drivers delay.

Exactly. Apologies for this but right now we're two people short, one of whom normally deals with all the order related queries, and we're trying to finish, test, pack and ship twice as many cabs as we've ever shipped in a week. That's why some people will have received emails sent from me at 2am! We'll be back up to full staffing in a few weeks and the backlog of 10" orders is almost done, so normal service will resume over this period.

I ordered mine between Christmas and New Years and I did not get a quick response from my order. But after a few days they got back to me to confirm everything and finalize the order and I received the cab a little quicker than they first quoted. You have to remember you are dealing with a small company that focuses on making great cabs and not some huge internet mail order company that is intent on shipping as many cabs as quickly as possible.

My advice, order the hoodie, very cool, I am waiting for someone to come up to me while wearing it and start talking about Barefaced. Indeed, here in SW VA still waiting... It is my test of coolness and the rest of (my part of) the world is not measuring up. But seriously, the hoodies are cool, order a size larger. Alex, you need to post some pics of the hoodies!

I'm about the same size as you and the medium T-shirt is a neat fit, the large a looser fit but both fine for me. The medium hoodie is too small, large fits well.

I just ordered a Super Midget. I already have a One10, Four10, and Big Baby II. Can't go wrong with any BF cab in my opinion.

Fair question. I do love the BB2 so it's not an indictment of that cab. There are two reasons I ordered a SM when I already have a BB2.

First, I think of the SM as offering another small option, it'll go places where I feel the One10 just might not be enough; SM is only 23 pounds, so only 7 pounds more than a One10. It is considerably smaller than the BB2 box. Those 12's drip power and clean tone. So the SM fits a niche between One10 and BB2 for me. The SM can go where a One10 goes size-wise but having more output; and the SM goes where a BB2 does, volume/output/tonewise, but with a smaller footprint. A good example of the perfect SM gig IMO would have been a gig I played 2 weeks ago, where the performance was on a roof-top open-air deck. The thick, space-filling liquid bass of a Barefaced 12 is great for open air spaces; BUT-- I had to haul my gear up 2 flights of stairs, so a SM would have been more convenient than the BB2 (which I used that day and which of course sounded great).

The second reason, which is as important as the first to me, is that I can pair the SM with the BB2 to have a 2x12 rig for when I feel like I might need maximum output and volume (especially large outdoor gigs, and/or if I am with a loud, loud outfit that day/night). This will prepare me for any large gig situation regardless (though the single BB2 covers a whole lot on its own). I would have simply gotten a 2nd BB2 for this, but getting a SM gives both the option to have a very small 12 on its own, or a powerful 2x12 stack. A 2nd BB2 would sound great in a stack, just like a SM+BB2 would, but it would not give me an additional sound/gear/size option that adding a SM would. And Alex (and various players) have told me that the SM pairs great with a BB2; it's one of Alex's 5 cab "recommended cab pairings" (doesn't that sound like it should be a sommelier finding the right cabernet for a ribeye dinner?)

So, I feel like I can kill two birds with one stone, adding the SM to the arsenal.

Thanks. I bolded the part where you said the SM goes where the BB goes. I guess I can't understand, then, why you would need both if loudness and tone were all one cared about in a cab. I understand the schlepping part, but are there any other advantages to one over the other if they both seem to be equal in other aspects ? For instance, would a 5 string player favor the BB over the SM ? I'm thinking more or less stand alone solution here, and not pairing up two cabs.
