This question is mainly for Alex but if anyone has opinions please chime in! What are the sonic differences between two One10 cab's and a single Two10? I know the Two10 has only one speaker with the midrange dome, will that make a significant change in tone verses the two One10's both with the midrange dome?
So I know I sound like a broke record, but I am so happy with my (2) One10 / Mesa D800 / EBMM Sterling rig. Played through it again last night at rehearsal with the new band me and my wife are building, and man I just can't get over how great this rig sounds in a band. Its like I have my own sonic space, and every note just jumps right at you without sounding overbearing or muddy. No matter where I play on the fingerboard, or what my left hand playing position is, every nuance articulates through the speakers.
We actually added two more members last night, keys and acoustic guitar player. Both complimented my bass sound. The guitar player helped me carry out my amp. saying "I'll carry one of your cabs for you". He picked it up, and looked at me in disbelief (15#), and said, never mind, I'll carry both of them for you. He was truly astonished at the size and weight after hearing them all evening.

I was going to wait for people with legitimate knowledge or experience to answer this, but since it's not answered yet, here's a less-than-definitive answer.
I submit to being corrected by Alex or others if this is not accurate, but (best Trump impersonation voice here) "I hear things, and people are saying" that there's virtually no detectable difference between two One10's and a Two10. The Two10 might have just a tiny bit more low than the 2 x One10 configuration since it is one larger box; but I seriously doubt you'd find any lack of low in the 2 x One10 set-up. Thus, negligible difference. Both two One10's and a single Two10 will run at 4 ohms since the One10 is 8ohms and the Two10 is 4 ohms (unless you get the 12 ohm version, which is mainly for combining with a Four10 or Six10) So, their output ought to be the same. There is no 8 ohm Two10 so you could not at some future point add a 2nd Two10 to your single Two10, unless you got the 12 ohm version. Not that you'd need to.
I will now wait for my answer to be debunked, but maybe that helps a little, BigEarl.

Happily trending in my own peculiar direction.
The only thing I would add is that Mesa D800 owners could run 2, 4 ohm, Two10's. I am contemplating just that.

While I have not compared two One10's to a single Two10, I can say that your statements, above, are consistent with what I have observed comparing other 1x10 pair to a 2x10 and 1x12 pairs to a 2x12 (all "matching" cabs, of course).

<-- (me right now, waiting for my Big Baby 2 to ship).When I spoke with Alex, he cautioned that a Big Twin 2 indoors with a powerful head like Mesa Boogie makes might cause the walls, doors and windows to explode off their hinges. I'm paraphrasing, but... 4 ohms from a Mesa into Twin or 2 x Big Baby 2 cabinets is supposedly something you'd consider in an outdoor setting, not in a small or mid-sized interior. Can't wait
I can confirm that an M9 into two BB2's is a thing of awesomeness. Something about great power and responsibility.
One BB2 works pretty well outdoors. Just depends on the set-up and venue size, but I used it yesterday at a Brewery outdoor stage, sounded great and no shortage of volume capacity. Dave W. runs 2 x BB2 which must indeed be awesome. When I get the SM to add to my BB2 I will know something similar. But one BB2 does amazing things on its own.
I've been running a single BB2 a lot recently for our smaller gigs. It's just as awesome and still very loud and capable of some serious bottom end. Pretty amazing for "just" a 1X12.
A GK MB Fusion 800. This wasn't the world's loudest band by any stretch, but the BB2 seems to fill an area with bass and doesn't get weak as you move away from it, and doesn't seem directional. It's like you have PA support for bass when you don't, as I say often enough to be annoying I am sure. So far, one has been enough in any situation I've been in, but the caveat being, I don't play in jet-engine loud bands anymore. Moderate volume but sometimes loud. But I get the impression it can hang with louder than I've pushed it. I am getting an SM to go with it anyway, not out of need but more out of desire. Just in case.

My Barefaced desires have run the full gamut. First I wanted two One10's, then I wanted a Two10 and a One10 (with a Mesa to drive the 2.66 ohm load) then two Two10's. But now I'm back to two One10's with a D800 so I can option a third One10 for the really big shews!
And Anton72, I was dead set against going with the metal screen, but seeing your's I'm thinking I'll just save the $100! Nice!

Three One10 and D-800 pushing at 2 Ohm must be the loudest from the smallest I suppose! I am also thinking of D-800 cause its 2 Ohm capability sounds very attractive so you can just have any three 8 Ohm cabs to run through. The more I play through my 10' the more I realize I may also need a SM for a different flavor.
There are those who maintain that, despite Alex saying it is not recommended, the One10 and SM work well together. I will try it out when I get the SM, hopefully soon. They are busy catching up, over there.
