I am still not sure about selling the RB to be honest. Alex said it would sound nice through the BT2 although there are some things about the RB that I find not to my liking.

So I thought about replacing it with something else.

Currently I am leaning towards the Aguilar TH500 or Mesa D800 subway option and I just found a nice Epifani UL501 for sale here in Europe. Anyways, I am waiting for the cab to arrive and then off I go to music stores to find a good amp match for the cab.

I also have to try the TC Electronic RH750 to see how it works. This amp has always had my interest.

I'm completely on the small class D bandwagon now (all three GK MBx00 heads and a Mesa D-800) so I never touch my 1001RBII anymore, but I did crack open its rack case after getting my Big Baby II just to try it out. It was amazing, tons of bottom end and low mid punch but still very clear and oh so loud. I can't imagine the sound you'd get from letting a 1001 push any of the bigger Barefaced cabs (Super Twin, Big Twin, Four10, Six10, or, heaven help you, the Eight10). drool

I am running the same set up, sometimes with a Magellan 800 or a Streamliner 900 and they all sound sweet!

I think it has two speak-on connectors... but even if it did one, what kind of 'unwanted complications' are you talking about? :eyebrow: The cabs have two connectors so you can daisy-chain them (connectors in parallel).

I gigged my 810 for the first time in a real situation (finally). I had been really holding on to the 69er for gigging because it really is lighter and super easy. With the 69er, I can make one trip from the car - bass in a gig bag on my back and pedalboard over my shoulder. The 810 requires I bring it on its own. Which is fine.

But I had been having trouble hearing myself at this one bar, so I brought the 810 to have a speaker closer to my ear.

It sounded amazing with my Genz Benz Shuttle 6.2. Same amp, same situation as the 69er, the 810 has much deeper lows (so much so that I couldn't really use the Ultra Bass on the Designer Sub), it's definitely louder and sounded nice and smooth. Really no complaints. I was able to be much quieter while hearing myself much better.

It's coming back out on Saturday for sure.

ended up using my 110 for practice today. Guitarist was on a borrowed Fender deluxe plus we had a full drum kit. I could actually get too loud with the 110 if i wanted. I was using my Shuttle 6.2 with it and it was super super loud. Great lows as well. I had the Designer Sub on all practice with the Ultra-Bass switch flipped and it sounded amazing.

What an incredible little cab.

Yeah man I don't know. I am actually even more unsure whether to sell it or not. The buyer is waiting... The hell should I do :(

I was also thinking of switching to the Fusion 550. Could be a blast.

The MB series feel kind of cheap to my hands... The pots are really flimsy compared to the RB series.

It depends on how hard you're pushing it (from my understanding of what Alex has said).
The HPF tends to remove the audible indication of the drivers being driven beyond their limits.
If you aren't pushing the cab close to its limits, it should be OK.

I wasn't thinking about an HPF for driver protection, more for shaping the sound like copping more of a sealed cab vibe or reining in the low end extension if it is a bit much for a room. If you can change the low end focus a bit like a lens it expands the palette you have to work with.
