My D800+ will be here sometime today. I looked at the AG700, it looks like a killer amp, I just just really liked the feature set of the 800+. It allows me to leave pedals off my board(No need for an HPF)and the semi-parametric mids are a great idea. I love it on my Kiesel basses, so it should be golden to have it on my amp as well...

Not if you're me. That's not my sound...Aguilar or GK, I'd consider Demeter if it wasnt so expensive

I had my first gig with my new-to-me Big Twin II, driven by my most excellent Reiner 1200.
I'm very impressed. The clarity is unreal. There is so much information in the highs and high mids, but it doesn't get harsh or strident. The mid bump I like isn't voiced into the cab, but a twist of a dial on the bass or the amp and it's there. It's nice and loud, and for its size, almost laughably light.
When I have time, I'll have to A/B the four10 and the BigTwinToo.

I'm in the middle of rearranging my studio, but I got a few minutes to play with the 800+...Wow! Just heaps and gobs of all kinds of good stuff. I'd really like to get it completely dialed in, but playing at home and playing at gig volume are pretty different. I can tell it's already close though. I'm excited! Now all I need is my Barefaced Big Twin II...
Cool! Agree with everything you've said-- based on my "half" BTII ( a BB2) and "pseudo"BTII (BB2+SM).
I have and like the Four10 too-- very different cab type, and I go back and forth. Right now I am digging the BB2 and/or SM more than the Four10, but loved the Four10 last time I took it out a week ago, with a Super Bassman. While I have not been running the horn full on w/ the BB2 or SM, I am (for right now) enjoying having that little extra bit of sizzle and harmonic available to put a cutting edge on the notes and sound.
I'll be interested to hear your thoughts about your two cabs in comparison. Quite different types of awesome IMO.
Yeah, right now what I'd like is the BTII with a low mid bump, or the four10 with an extended high end. Hmm, if I ran them at the same time, maybe I'd have that.
I don't think a crossover would make sense with two (very) fullrange cabs. It seems more like the usual "try it and see if it works". Although as you imply, no sane person needs to be that loud. Hmmm...
The pic I just posted is my new Super Midget. At the moment I only have an Acoustic Image Series 4+ Clarus, because my GK MBF800 is blown. In the market for a new head, either another GK or and Aguilar AG700.
Seems like more people are taking the BB2/SM route. I was thinking I'd like another BB2, but now you guys got me wondering if I should hop on the bandwagon and add an SM instead.

I'm running the D800+ through two BB2's (for large or outdoor venues).
It's pure tonal bliss. Honestly the HPF isn't really needed with the adjustable cross over but the more I play with and REALLY listen to the other extra features compared to the regular 800 the more I'm not regretting ponying up for the plus. It's a fantastic combination.
Running both cabinets with the crossovers set independently is a total tonal foolproof spectrum that works in 100% of every situation.
Taking my time to Dial in everything perfectly is euphoric tone Xanadu.

Of course 2 BB2's would be awesome, but IMO the BB2+SM is the way to go... just as good (IMO) as a pair of BB2's when paired but with the option of just bringing a single, compact, 15 pound 12" + horn cab when warranted... which is often for me since it covers a variety of gig situations. In its cover, with the handle positioning, when carried into the gig it looks and feels like that little amp your guitarist brings.... only 3 pounds more than a tiny Fender Champ gtr amp. The portability of the SM is to me noticeably better than the BB2 which is just big enough to not be small, though it is light (BB2 =27-29 lbs) Totally scale-able set-up.
Also, to convince that other part of your brain, getting an SM to pair with the existing BB2 rather than a 2nd BB2 would also save you a (small) bit of money too.
