Hmmmmm ..... Something to think about, at least once I get back to trying to find or start a band again (too much going on to be able to commit to learning material for a new band right now).

But, should one pop up in the For Sale forum before I'm completely ready to take my next step, I guess that will make decision for me. :help:

I believe that the SM+BB2 will provide a "better" (YMMV) tone than BB2 x 2 due to their different but complementary tones. I gigged just the BB2 1st - it was great, but noted an additional quality when I added the SM. The best way I can describe: BB2 has great deepness of tone while SM has great thickness of tone.

They're a small shop. They don't get to emails as fast as we'd like, or probably as fast as they'd like. I've heard from them a couple of times this week(unfortunately, not the "your cab is shipping now"...lol). The last time I sent an email, it took a few days for a response. Don't forget, they're also, like, 5 or 6 hours ahead of us. They're working.

How long ago did you put down your deposit and what did you order?

2 weeks? They probably just now started on your cab, lol! I ordered my Big Twin II around 4/17, and it's supposed to be about done now on 5/18. Unles they have one sitting around almost finished, I think you're looking at 4-6 weeks...

There are certainly windows of time where communication doesn't turn around as fast as you'd like, but it is a small operation. The good news is that I've never heard of money disappearing into a black hole.

It isn't unusual to hear of them being sent overnight, once they are built and available.

Absolutely. I've used it with a Kemper head and the built in cab modeling, and the neutral BB2 voicing works wonderfully similar to going DAW direct. I've also used it for synth and drum machine work. It's pretty versatile.

Sorry about this - that's really weird, we normally send confirmation of order emails by the end of the next working day. Could you private message me your email address and/or paypal ID if you have one, and any details related to your order? I avoid the private message system here because I lose track of messages in it but it may be your emails are being blocked or something.

Sometimes people order via paypal but their paypal email address isn't up to date so they don't get our response - but if you've emailed us again that should have solved the problem, unless our spam filter ate it (which happens very rarely but I guess eventually someone will be unlucky enough).

Good news: Got the shipping notice that my BTII is on its way to me!!
Bad news: Somehow, they got the wrong address, so the cab had to be recalled and rescheduled for shipment on Monday. Bummer.

Harry was super cool, and very apologetic. Tuesday actually works out since I have an acoustic gig Tuesday night. I'll get a chance to play through it for a few hours at a lower volume to break it in before the next full-band gig. I'm stoked!

I'm really excited about the downsizing of my gear! Only one thing left to do, shrink the pedalboard. Gonna try to handle that next week...

Going to a jam today, no drummer so will take just one of my newly acquired One 10 cabs. I was going to take my Markbass SA450 head, but while it sounds nice the One 10 sounds much nicer with the Ampeg V4B so will take that. I am a tube addict which is what first attracted me to the Four 10 which is voiced for the old tubey/sealed cab character. The cabinet voicing seems much more apparent to me in the One 10 format, possibly because I am driving it more at home, but it may be that my "small" rig becomes the V4B with 1 or 2 One 10s. I do have a used TC Classic 450 on its way which may work for my ears, bought it very cheap so worth the gamble. I just love the character that is built into the tens, and seem to love it even more with tubes......still considering a Mesa D800 but my supercritical ear seems to detect solid state in any form so need to try one with the One 10 first - not easy when there only seems to be one in the whole country. Other than that a new Tone Hammer 750 should be available to try soon.
EDIT: Just been noodling on the One 10/V4b combo again. I cannot believe just how good this combination sounds. The V4B seems to really open up the One 10. Absolute tonal heaven..... common sense does say that since I bought the One 10 to be part of a mini rig it seems a little silly.

......wuz slated to sell one of my One10s locally........but just now had a brief jam with drums and 2 guitars.....and cranked up the D800+ through the pair of One10s.....and when I goosed the mids (both low and high), they started to grunt 'n' bark so perfectly..... I just cannot do it. I keep wanting to sell one to finance a different (more hifi) cab, but keep coming to my senses just in time. Wow, they sounded so good at "drummer" volume!

This is exactly what just happened with my cab. It was shipped yesterday, and arrived at my porch this morning while I was having coffee.

My new Super Compact - I'm overjoyed. It takes everything the Reidmar 750 will give.
