Hi all!

I'm a proud owner of a BB2 for 2 weeks now and I can say that you guys where right, these cabs are amazing. I did 2 outdoor gigs with them so far and a bit of practice at home and I'm really satisfied with my cab. I have plenty of volume and I hear what my bass sound like. I drive it with a Demeter VTBP-201s Pre amp and a QSC PLX 3102 Power Amp.

It sound so good that I play music trough it in my room. I feel like having a whole band besides me . I consider to buy another one in a more or less distant future to use it as a small PA as I plan to do some small gig with just piano, bass and voice.

But I also want to share the struggles I had with the method of payment. I send to Barefaced a international fund transfert, but the guy at my local credit union did not mention the name of Barefaced in the description, so their bank in the UK was not able to link my payment to Barefaced. I have to spend 40$ CAD for the payment that didn't reach it's destination, and I have to pay another 25$ to get my money back . So I ended up paying them with PayPal.

So be really careful to write "Barefaced" in the description of your payment and not just "Electronic device"...

I too had problems. They need to straighten this out. They need to tell you EXACTLY how to pay this way. The bank gets the money but they don't know who to credit it to and just quietly let it sit in their account instead of doing a little footwork and figuring it out. It's not that hard to do.

I would like to issue a minor complaint to Alex and the Barefaced staff. You see, I have two BB2s, in order to be modular. Degrees of loudness being 1 cab) damn loud and 2 cabs) try not to stand too close.

My complaint is that I am now a fraud. I never get to plug the second cab in. One solitary BB2 is enough to have the FOH engineers requesting that I reduce stage volume. On an open air stage.

Per the photo, I now use the second BB2 as a stand for the first. Ah, first world problems.

Even if you aren't actually using the second cab, it's worth having it based on looks alone. They make a really nice looking stack - especially with the cloth grills!

I second that. My sound guy has such an extensive array of advanced equipment capable of pumping the necessary bass he tells me to just use one cab and let him handle the rest. It is awesome to have two BB2's though. Outdoor gigs are killer and it's like having two pairs of shoes. If you use them both they last forever.

Yeah I guess I wasn't thinking right. To get 12 ohms the drivers have to be 6 ohms each. So six of them would total 4 ohms indeed.

But the 410 is either 2 ohm or 8 ohm, and the 110 is 8 ohm, so those drivers are 8 ohm. He must have two different models of 10" drivers I'm guessing? A 6 ohm and an 8 ohm? Or the final impedance is just a 'close enough' rating?

I am pretty sure there is only one model of 10" driver and the impedance is 6 ohms.

Then the Two10 is really either 3 ohm or 12 ohm - same for the Four10 & Eight10.

This has been discussed much earlier in the thread and Alex chipped in on it. I am not an expert by any means, but the gist I got from it was that any speaker impedance rating is only nominal as it will vary widely across the frequency range. But yes, I believe you are essentially correct.
I also believe that Alex's ratings on the speakers are correct in terms of what an amplifier "sees". There is a big difference between the electrical impedance you will get from putting a multimeter across speaker terminals and a practical playing situation.
Again, I am no expert on electronics.

Different model, same "problem". My BTII is going to get me fired from my own band...

This single 212 cab is the single most DOMINATING cab I have ever owned. I almost can't believe how capable this one cab is. It's ridiculously light, and it can probably get painfully loud!

My Mesa Strategy/Barefaced BTII rig is SOO good! How good? We practice at my guitar player's house. In the practice room, there is an SVT-II Pro on top of an old 810. I've been given permission to dial it however I see fit to make me happy. I'm thinking about at least bringing my BTII to practice, because my rig sounds SOOO MUCH BETTA' than his rig. Even if I brought my D800+ and my BTII, it would still blow that Ampeg rig out of the water, and I like Ampeg.

It may be a necessity to get a BB2, just to keep the peace...LOL!

The BB2 is already louder than a loud thing. So to what purpose?

not enough money to spend on another BB2, nor I want the hassle, usually play with low powered amp, a tiny bit of added headroom, even 1-2 db, cannot be a bad thing, if the price of that kit is reasonable

There is a lot more going on in this picture than you might initially see, and yes I agree OP that you will be fired by a band that's tired of you "great sounding rig". I mean look at the required microphone on the guitarist's pretty good sized Blackstar combo, obviously that BTII don't need no stinkin' stage micing! And look at the massive monitor the poor drummer requires just to hear everything BUT the bass!

Yes, I do believe a BBII is in order to keep you sweet gig OP!

Impossible without either giving up sensitivity or power handling or changing the tone. The 12XN driver is extremely finely balanced, it's optimised to the nth degree. "Just" changing the DC resistance of the voice coil isn't possible without upsetting the balance of everything else.

Hey Mr Hetfield....curious about the ST. Why did you go with the ST as opposed to the BTII? I only ask because I'm mulling over my wants/needs now as far as my Barefaced cab purchase and those two are of course in the running with the Four10 and Six10.

From start to finish the signal chain was awesome. If you turned it up it got big.

I have said it before that everyone should have a One 10. Perfect for acoustic gigs, jazz groups, small gigs, rehearsals, jams.

How do you like the Tonehammer with the One10? I'm always interested in experimenting with different amps. Right now I'm using a GK MB200 with mine.

I can't really attest to the Tonehammer/One10 pairing, but I can't stop raving about the One10/MB200 combination. The MB200 sounds considerably more pleasing than the MB500 or MB800 (they don't sound "bad" but the MB200 has some kind of super mojo with the BF 10" driver!)
