The SM is an amazing cab, but if you want a bigger low end and the ability to move more air look at the BB2. They make the most perfect modular stack I've ever heard or owned and I cannot imagine being happier with another brand or configuration.

I have 2 BB2's and a D800+. Best sounding rig I ever used or heard. The BB2 can produce deep thunderous lows while also able to produce great midrange and nice highs, with the tweeter engaged, which makes for good definition when cutting through the mix of a 5 piece band.

Damn fine micro rig right there. I have a SM, interested in the Bass Block 800 but haven't heard/played one. I'll ask the largely rhetorical question but-- how do you like the pairing?
Quilter and BB2 pairing is going well, for me. Not my favorite, but not bad at all.
My Quilter, BB2 + SM is the f'shizzle!

so this happened the other day. the culmination of a lot of daydreaming. the head needs some work, but it works enough to hint at the potential for glory. 60 watts into 8ohms
Don't remember for sure, but someone (probably on the BB800 thread) mentioned running the gain lower for more natural midrange out of the Quitler - something about finding a sweet spot where it came more into focus.
I know a lot of Bass Blockers like to run the gain up fairly high - DSFDF & all; YMMV.
I've certainly found the the gain settings change the eq profile. I like them amp. I'm not sure it's a clear winner over the DG 900. I'm currently holding both with the Plan to sell one. If it was an amazing amp, I'd even think about selling my Demeter, but that's not super likely.

Haha, That's exactly my setup right now. Quilter is doing good job. Not the most versatile EQ but their power section IMO is the best class D amp out there.
Has anyone seen this/ i know it's not a scientific analysis but it is interesting in it's own right.
I've watched it more than once. Hard to understand how a 212 can hang with an 810.
I've read through the entire website as well. Just never experienced a Barefaced cab myself.
I currently have 5 Barefaced cabs, 2 SC's, 2 One10's and a Two10. I'm evaluating the 10's and deciding which way to go, but believe me they are in another league when it comes to weight, volume and tone.
I'm not really sure if my Big Twin II really can sound like an 810. If I closed my eyes, would I really be fooled? Not sure, but overall, the BF cabs are a game changer for me. My Four10 and BTII are both easy carries, and either one can get uncomfortably loud in pretty much any situation, while still sounding defined and relaxed.
Volume is a difficult thing to judge. The BTII and even the Four10 have much greater frequency range than the classic ampeg 810. The Ampegs pull off a neat trick, making you feel like there is a lot of low end there when in fact there isn't. To a lesser extent the Four10 does this too.
