While we're at it then, I'm looking for a One10 with steel grill.
I have never owned or played out of an SC but will say that that BB2 offers very reasonable weight/size, tons o' volume (clear full range volume) and has a variable x-over point that affords one a variety of flavors. Hard to beat.
I inquired to Barefaced about which cab would best suit my needs. I was thinking BB2. Alex said if I had never felt the need for a tweeter in the past (I haven't), I likely wouldn't need one now, and recommended the SC.
Alex is pretty spot on. The BB2 also gets you some extra deep low extension, beyond the SC. Not that it is drastic, or worth paying for the extra tweeter assembly you won't use.
It's also meaningfully deeper front to back, which has an effect when you're carrying it.
Not to be argumentative but I guess coming from the days of hauling multiple large heavy cabinets I don't see much of a difference between the two. The BB2 is 2/10" wider, 2.1" deeper and weighs 5.5 pounds more. These are not large numbers. I have a very bad back and knees and have no problem carrying a BB2 with a cover on it. I do not have to move my gear via cab so size/weight is not a critical issue for me. In deciding to buy the BB2 cabs I looked at it from the viewpoint of not being much larger/heavier, offering more bass, treble and volume for the small difference in size and weight. Alex's clever crossover circuit allows one to dial out the sizzle when needed so I feel like I have both a SC and a BB2 at my disposal with a simple twist of the wrist. The handle on the BB2 is placed nearer to the front of the cabinet (as it should be) and when carrying it with the front against your body it reduces the perceived weight (center of gravity effect). I use the cabinet for many types of music and instruments so FRFR is nice when reproducing higher frequencies. That was my thought process when choosing for ME. of course if you don't need the added extension offered by the BB2 it doesn't make sense to pay for it (I would justify it by saying just in case but that's me).
Kudos to Alex for addressing each individuals needs and not upselling.
The flip side of this is that I own a Fearless F110 (okoume) and when I bought it EVERYONE said just get the 12, it's not much bigger, heavier or expensive. I wanted the smallest, lightest cabinet that could cover anything in a primarily acoustic environment without the frowns and comments from purists upon seeing amplifiers being brought in to their environment. So...
After all that the reason I chose to comment is I have seen several posts stating that the SC (or even SM) are a dramatically easier schlep and since I have not made a real world comparison I'm saying "It looks good on paper" and we all know what happens when one assumes. Thank you for your time. I suppose I could have just posted the last few sentences but I'm having trouble sleeping tonight.

maxl, good news/bad news/good news... Good news: I have two One10's, but have been thinking of unloading one of them. Bad news: both are cloth grills. Good news: I'm in Pflugerville. Lemme know!

I've had 2 midgets, a compact and brief use of a super compact before I got my FR800s. Now, they weigh more because of the amp so fair enough and I can't comment on the BB2's weight. With hat said, I really do notice the extra 6cm or so of front-to-back depth on the FR800/BB2 over the SC. It's the difference between making it through and a door and hitting it on the door frame IME.

Dumb question... Between the Super Compact and Two 10, which goes louder? Are both equally capable at keeping up volume-wise with drums/vox/keys/guitar, or is there a clear winner between the two? Assume a classic "P bass with flats" tone in a blues/rock band.
I found them comparably loud, in my rock band settings, similar to what you described. The SC might be able to take more watts, and might punch through as "louder" in some ways because of the flatter voicing. Each got plenty loud, for me. I didn't push them to their respective upper limits.

I had the same question but about Two10 vs SM. I own SM and One10, using SM for gigs but I tend to favor the tone of BF 10" speakers over 12" here/s the question. I love the portability of SM but I believe Two10 is not much bigger?
According to my maths, while the Two10 and SC are different weights and shapes, they are almost exactly the same cubic volume. The SM is about two-thirds in cubic size.

Alex has said something to the effect that the SM and SC are equally "loud." However the SC certainly pushes more lows at higher volumes IME.
For a 210 vs SM, I'd lean towards the 210 for more volume. Though, I may not have pushed my SM as hard as I could've.
I wouldn't say the 210 is much bigger than the SM. It's a little tougher to carry, due to the weight and dimensions. The SM is ridiculously easy to carry.
