Because the slot port on all the 12's run along the length, it messes with my OCD having that much cab obviously hanging off the side of the silver. So I HAVE to have the black for 12's.

I prefer the look of the silver cloth grill, and have it on my 10's cabinets. Retro chic, like the 10's themselves. I like the black steel fine too though, and I do think the steel is more bullet-proof; I have that on my cab's with 12's (but started out that way because the only Big Baby II I could get was used, and it was black steel. I got the SM to match that. I definitely prefer the silver cloth over black cloth which some people do as a custom option.
Can you explain this portion of your post. As far as what now? Silver or black is a standard option.
As monsterthompson said, they have a certain following... I've never seen/heard one but it gets rave reviews by the handful of people that have them. They are made in Poland by, essentially, a one-man operation. I am quite curious about them and at least one poster friend of mine has said its his favorite amp, ever.

I may be speaking nonsense since my knowledge about it is just what I've seen... but some people have gotten a cloth grill, but it's black cloth instead... it's not an option that is listed but I've seen pictures, so I guess a few have just emailed and requested it. Kind of like the cloth grill on this custom color cab, but on the normal black tolex cabs. Sorry, can't find a quick photo of a regular cab with that black cloth grill.
He's referring to a custom cloth grill option other than silver, which you can get for an upcharge. I have a black cloth grill on my BTII.
Ok. Well black or silver was offered in the drop down box as a standard option for me, same price, when I ordered my 6x10 last night.

They had a FB post saying they aren't going to be taking orders until the new prices are up. Evidently there was a flood of orders that came in to avoid the increase.
Cool, didn't realize it was now one of the "standard" custom options. I very much prefer the silver so it didn't really get my attention apparently.
Here's mine. There are other cloth options & paint options for a custom build if you are willing to pay more.

Nobody will suspect that your silver grill cabinet weighs 24 pounds because it looks so classic, like a Bluesbreaker combo that looks unassuming and adorable until you pick it up and it's 66 pounds.
