A passive 4 with reasonable EQ is my exact setup, so maybe I don't need anything else after all. I really don't want to spend a chunk of money on a new cab, but if I do, it'll be within the next 6 months. I'm moving to Canada this fall, and I definitely don't want to pay their import fees.

Are our import fees worse than American fees? (Leaving out the exchange rate).
Montreal. The BF site states that the Canadian fees are 20%, where the US fees are around 5%.

I've bought both of mine used so I'm not aware of that.
Which pro poweramp and preamp for those cabs ? I need quiet, no buzz/hiss/whateva rig which don't colour sound, quite light at least 500w per channel and 1000 w mono. And all with rackmount option (or at least with rackmount ears). The pro in sound, quality, etc. is the key of course not the highest possible - I don't wanna pay for options which will be useless like was in my Ampeg SVT4PRO in the past. Just basic, usefull options without fancy shmancy sliders, switches, knobs, etc. Simple poweramp for mono and stereo and preamp which have all usefull options (it's nice when it have HPF but rather no compression and that kind of stuff. At least 3 band eq - choosing center frequency will be perfect and that's probably enough for my needs. Simple but still pro in mind

HPF is a fine thing, but in this particular case not that helpful.
I could push a little cab like the one10 a lot further, but I WANT the low end rumble from my cab on stage.
Well, the one10 is long gone and yesterday, my SM finally arrived.
So my new Mini Stack Of Doom produces all the lows I can handle. Even with the weak lil Ampeg on top, I get a lot of oopmh. With a 600W poweramp it does a LOT more, but I had no chance to check out the total volume. Will do once I run past the rehearsal space.
Just wanted to let this thread know that Barefaced has done an outstanding job with their new wire transfer methods. They have US based JPMorgan Chase receiving funds fir American Express services based in UK.
My sure was acknowledged as received by BF with 24 hours.

Totally agree with you, given that you already have a Four 10.
If anyone is looking for a Two 10 cover I am about to list one in the classifieds but I thought I would give the group first crack at it. Pm me if you are interested. Would like to get $60 shipped CONUS if possible. It has been folded in a closet ever since I got it so I thought I would pass it along to someone who may use it instead.
FYI, An HPF allows you to get more audible rumble from your system, not less.

This is the exact same US wire transfer method we've always had!

That's not entirely true - it depends on the specific HPF, so the knee frequency, the slope and the Q. Quite easy for an HPF to remove rumble, and more, like the one on the TC RH450.
