It's extremely powerful and easy to find great tones. I constantly struggled with cutting through a mix live with no pa support with it. Ultimately I needed more eq capabilities even with using a broughton super stack pre in front of it. Granted I had it before discovering BF and other cabs I now own but I was using a Aguilar SL410x which is no slouch, especially with a horn that was super loud.

The thing with Quilter IMO is if you're happy with your bass tone set flat Quilter will work fine, if you need some drastic EQ tweak to make your bass sound good than Quilter is not for you.
No Eq, I have Alembic basses so I need clean as I can get

I read somewhere that it's like, can't remember the exact words, but that it's not full sounding as some amps, but you can believe in everything you read on internet

I just use a power amp and switch up my pre amps. Clean as can be thru my Bb2
I'm perfectly happy with my Quilter BB800 through my two Barefaced One10s. I have owned or played GK, Mesa, TC, Ampeg, TE, Acoustic Image and Genzler through these cabs. All were good, but the only one that matched the tone of the Quilter was the Ampeg PF50T tube head. I sold it because the Quilter is so much lighter and more compact. Weight and size matter when I own and carry a PA system, monitor system and light rig as well as my bass rig and sometimes my acoustic upright bass as well.

A+ if you're already in love with your preamp/pedal tone and basically just need a reliable power amp. Contender for "best in class" in its price/size/power category.
As a standalone amp, you will love or hate it, depending if the BB800's "sweet spot" overlaps with your own tonal preferences. I use mine for "P bass with flats" and it is thick and juicy. The gain and master controls are interactive. The master is not simply a master volume like other amps, but actually makes it sound like a low-wattage tube amp with "sag" type limiting. I personally prefer the sound with the master turned up for more headroom. I like a vintage mid-centric tone with depth at 11 oclock and contour at 1 oclock for a mild "frown face" EQ.
The most commonly-requested features by TalkBass users seem to be: 1) treble/bright control for sparkly modern sounds; 2) pre/post master-volume switch for the DI.

I'm with Mushroo, a P with flats is my sound too, and a Quilter through Barefaced cabs excels at this. No preamps, no pedals, just bass.
You can get a modern sound too, bad at 10/11 and max the contour. Sold my Shaw B150 cuz the Quilter was so good.
I've been wanting one of those high wattage sumos. Looks like it'd fit really well next to my P15.
It would be perfect! I am a bit jealous that you have one of Joshes holy boxes. I am using a Shaw Tube injection with mine. I hear they are comparable tho.
It depends which gig or what I feel like using.
The Rad is super punchy and quick and a whole lot of power.
The BS is just as nice and the form factor allows it to go on my pedal board.
I can't leave home without it now!
Do you notice a difference in sound between the sumo and the rad?
Rad sounds quicker, kinda, I think.
But, it could be my imagination.
They both are equally impressive!
Curious about the 10 series of cabs, has anyone compared the tone and output 2xTwo10 cabs to a single Four10 cab?
Interesting question, I have a Four 10 and a single Two 10 so cannot really help but in theory the same. I base this on Alex's statement that a two One 10s sound identical to a Two 10 - this has always intrigued me since I also own a One 10 and the Two 10 cabinet is quite a bit deeper.
Has anyone ever had a chance to compare a Super Twin to a Big Twin, or switched between the two. I am curious how significant the difference is.
