Anyone use a darkglass V2, b3k/vmt or AOU head with their barefaced 10's? What amp/s did you use prior and what do you like about the darkglass amps vs the previous amp you used?

I went from 12's to 10's and now back to 12's again! But I haven't been able to sell any cabs yet. I can't guarantee that I won't go back to 10's again!

Don't you just love how events can overtake you? When I wrote this I was happy with my collection of cabs and absolutely not selling any gear. . . . then I got an email and then another and. . . . I've just sold both Two10's and one of my Compacts! The only rig I've used since January has been an SC and Super Midget. The others just weren't being used so (unusually for me) I made an executive decision!

I slimmed down to 2 basses a couple of years ago, maybe it's time to reduce the number of amps and cabs.

Nah. I've got the BTII and love it but I've been eyeing the 610 just because I can get it in a custom color.

I have been blown away by my Barefaced Six 10 (Four 10 plus Two 10) with Aguilar DB751 pairing for a while now so know it pretty well, last night I thought I thought I would revert back to one of my other favourite setups, the Bergantino NV215 with an Orange AD200. It was in a room with which I am pretty familiar and last time used the Barefaced/Aggie. Suffice to say that while the Berg is still a setup that many would envy and it did the job well, the Barefaced/Aggie wins the day and will remain as my go to rig. It just has a wonderful punch and control, and seems pretty room tolerant as this was a difficult room. While the Barefaced 10s do have a special character, it pleases me that they still clearly respond to and show the differences between heads - and they do especially like tubes. The Barefaced 10s with the Orange AD200 is a thing of warmth and beauty, while the Aggie in combination with Barefaced takes no prisoners and I love it for the control it brings.

I'd love to check out a DB751 with my Barefaced stuff. However too many amps in the stable now, and no spare $2k. I'd consider trading my Fender Bassman 300 for one. In any case, The 60 pound amp doesn't get out that often; I don't play huge and bombastically loud rock gigs anymore. Thus, it's been mostly SM or BB2. Ocasionally the Two10.

All this Black with White piping has made me wonder if steel grills can be retrofitted with cloth ones, assuming that one may have to undertake a bit of DIY work.

^^^ you can just buy a cloth grill from BF, swap them out. nothing special to DIY, just handy work and design.

I didn't notice that until you mentioned it, but that's a good question! That one looks far more compact than the K&M double stand that I just bought.

That just a K&N acoustic guitar stand. Lightweight, folds flat and hold 2x Fender basses if yer careful.

Are you sure you can swap the grills over? I was under the clear impression from Alex that this is not possible.

Pretty sure they cannot be easily swapped.
