Thinking of investing in a pair of Barefaced 1x10 cabs. Will they produce as much volume and move as much air as my current rig. My gigs are mostly low to mid volume blues and classic rock.

Appreciate any feedback you all can provide.

i remember my swr 2x10 was kind of scooped sounding where as the BF one10s are more mid punching. i for one am a happier person with my 2x one10's but if your tonal goals involve "earth shaking lows" i think a four10 is about the same weight as your swr and then you'll definitely never have to worry. (i ended up with both)

I have an older two10 (says 400w, no impedance switch) and run it with a number of different amps for different gigs. I mostly use it with a doubler II and upright bass and can tell you that thing sounds incredible and pumps out volume like you wouldn't believe for the size. I know the sensitivity is given as 98db/broadband on the website, but the other cab I use for that setup is a berg CN212 (rated for 104db) and there isn't much drop off I've noticed on stage when going to the two10. My only concern with the two10 is the power handling since I'm using a 650w amp, though I know the BF website says these are safe with more power if running the amp clean.

But I've also taken to using the two10 with tube amps and it really sounds great there as well.

I have and love the super compact and the big twin. Unless you play in an incredibly loud band the SC will probably be enough

Understood. The amount of volume I get out of my BB2 @ 8 ohms is huge. I run with a Epifani UL 901. I really don't need more volume than what I get. And I play with 2 guitars and heavy drummer. I am completely blown away how huge just one cab is.

Enough power for +3dB all else equal. Given the difference in cab tunings and drivers, the 4 vs. 8 Ohm issue is probably negligible.

I play 5 string basses and use 2 One10's for low volume home practice. For a stand alone cab on gigs, I prefer my SC. These days I'll be running an SC and SM on louder gigs.

IMO try an SC and add to it if you find you need any extra.

Alex will answer I'm sure, but as a One10 owner, I'll say that it's not designed to be a super accurate speaker, and I'm sure that is also the case with the tweeter - it's designed to sound like a 'classic' (read: Ampeg) bass cab. For super accurate, they've got their 12" models like the BB2. I don't know about how they'd perform as studio monitors - might be a bit large for near-field, but perhaps they'd work for far-field? They're designed as bass cabs first and foremost though of course.

YES, i just got the email from barefaced announcing the new cab

Pardon me for replying in a forum that I am not a member of. I do own 2 of the 1x10's (got them in 2016) and the 4ohm version of the 210 (picked it up from a fellow TB member in 2018). They have been my main cabs since and until the apocalypse back in march, was gigging them regularly for electric bass and upright. I just wanted say that I am really interested in the 1x10T because I always wanted a little more top end when playing through my cabs and had wondered what these cabs would sound like with a tweeter. Hopefully one of us can get their paws on the new 1x10 and make a comparison.
