My shipping is to New Zealand and in the past has arrived in the country comfortably within three or four days. I figure that without regular passenger planes to carry parcels etc that my Super Midget in Singapore must be held up until they have enough freight to fill a plane. Either that or Fedex has lost it
All good. Just rang FedEx and my super midget has now moved on from Singapore to Sydney. For some reason my online tracking shows it still in Singapore. I must be patient but allowing myself to get a little bit excited. Looking forward to side by side comparing my bb2/super midget stack with my four 10/two 10 stack. And then I wonder about all of them together in one stupidly monster rig.... hmm ......

I was told by logistics people that two things are coming together in such situations.
1) Covid has affected the delivery routes. Loads of stuff getting shipped from one part of the world to the other, but hardly anything back, so there's containers piling up in one harbour and missing in another. And nobody wants to ship empty containers back.
2) Some shipping companies, delivery services, and postal and custom offices put individual packages into sort of quarantine for a couple of days after reaching logistics centers in a new country.
It's all quite arbitrary and hard to predict. Stuff that used to ship inside 5-10 days has taken 30+ days for me (hence I asked said logistics people), while other things shipped normally. Number 2) up there has affected both a jacket I ordered in the UK and a cell phone skin I ordered in Canada – three days quarantine when hitting the Netherlands, another three days once reaching Switzerland = +6 days on usual shipping. Other stuff I ordered from the US took the usual time, but that was with air freight.
This makes plenty of sense. Thanks for a very useful post. As usual patience is a virtue but difficult to apply when anticipating a ncd.
And the best news of the day, the eagle has landed 
. Just paid NZ$360 customs duty and it should be in my eager custody tomorrow or Friday. So there were never any problems really, just the fact that the tracking data was not up to date and led me to believe it had been held up in Singapore for six days. All's well that (hopefully) ends well.

From one side of the covid world to the other in 16 days including build time, not bad going. Makes Alex's point that now is a good time to place an order very valid.

Hi everyone, I'm considering getting my first Barefaced cab. I mainly play at home in my project studio and occasionally jam with a mate (although that hasn't happened for a while). The one10 is what I've mainly been looking at, although I am intrigued by the Super Compact as well. I play mainly proggy/metal and rock stuff so use a bit of distortion. Would pairing a Darkglass Alpha Omega 500 head work with the one10, or am I better off going with the Super Compact? I realise this might be overkill. I'm also totally open to pairing a one10 with a small head and using a pedal for my distortion needs, so having a nice small rig.
Also last question has anyone tried to use a Mesa D800 with a one10?

I use an 800w head with my One10, though not the Mesa. What I like about the One10 is that it sounds great at all volumes (I'm sure the SC does too) and can be gigged with too. Sounds good with distortion from pedals and my Genzler head.
I use my D800+ with a One 10. Great match although I do feel the One 10 sounds better with the mesa's bright switch on, and the 800 doesn't have a bright switch. Also a good tip is to set the Mesa to 2 ohms which will reduce the power output to the One 10.
I'm currently using my 800 watt Thunderfunk thorough a One10. That's only because it sounds better than my other amps at the very low volumes I have to play at in order to keep the neighbours happy. When I can play louder I have a second One10 and sometimes use my Aguilar TH500. I have gigged both One10's but usually prefer to use my SC.
IMO a One10 is a great cab to use around the house and with a Mesa amp you've got a winning combination.

D800+ with Two10 user here. I previously owned a Compact and a pair of BB2 as well. I'd say get the One10, the 10 series are the most 'flattering' of the lot and work very well with overdrive.
I bought my One10 when I was trying to either find or start an acoustic-ish project, but I ended up joining a different kind of band so I've never gigged it (though I do gig a pair of Big Baby 2's!
). I have, however, used it at home with the D800 I used to own and with the D800+ that I replaced it with. Sounds wonderful with both of those, as well as with my Genzler Magellan 350 and my old G-K MB200. The Barefaced 10's are voiced to provide a more classic, vintage bass tone than their full range 12s (not saying that 10's are better than 12s in general for vintage bass tone, only that Barefaced specifically voices their 10s and 12s that way), the One10 is able to get surprising loud for its size, and I find the tone to be pretty consistent at all volume levels.But, since you said you'd be using it for metal/prog and would be using distortion, you might want to consider a Two10. The Barefaced site says the One10 is recommended for amps 100-250W, or possibly up to 500W if your tone is clean. If you really do keep your volume and distortion levels down, then a One10 could be a great choice. But, if you want to be capable of producing metal/prog/rock volume with distortion, then maybe a Two10 would be a safer, although more expensive, choice.
Or, if you prefer to have a more neutral cabinet that you can either run clean when you want that kind of tone or to use specific pedals to get the tone you want, then a Barefaced 12 such as a Super Compact might be a better choice than one of the Barefaced XXX10 cabinets. Depends on what you prioritize for your tone goals. If you can't decide (or even if you're pretty sure about what you want), then contacting Alex at Barefaced would be a good idea. He has a great reputation here for guiding customers to the right cabinet for their tone goals.
FWIW, my band plays classic rock, blues rock, and blues. Even though I might love my tone even more with something like a pair of Two10s, I can't see anything making me trade my BB2s (they have same 12 that's in the Super Compact). They're spectacular cabinets as well.

Anyone had any issues with the durability of the finish on the larger cabs?
Just dusted my ST off as it hasn't been out of its case for a while due to the UK lockdown. Just noticed I have 2 dents on the front edges where it must have had a knock.
I really baby my cabs and all my gear. This lives in a padded cab cover during all transport, which is only removed once its in position, is only ever transported in the back of my carpeted car (no throwing into vans etc) and I'm really careful when moving it. It's probably only done about 4 gigs and half a dozen rehearsals and it already looks slightly bashed.
Had loads of traditional MDF and tolex cabs that seem to take knocks better than this. The slightly thinner edge around the speaker front side seems particularly vulnerable

Is that coated in bed liner? I've always had major issues with chips in the finish of bed liner coated cabs.
I also thing BF had noted issues with the ports on older models too for some reason.

No issues with the finish on my BB2. I just noticed a ding in the cab that I think might've come from setting it on the metal part of a bungee I used (with gear loaded on top). It's an odd ding but in the right place and the right size for that. The finish is fine though.
The 'tuffcab' finish is durable, but it can be chipped. I was reasonably careful and used protective covers (Roqsolid) but I still managed to get a few chips here and there over the years. The good news is that it's super easy to retouch them. I believe Barefaced will sell you a little retouch kit for like a £5, but you can buy the stuff in other places too, like Blue Aran (and in fact it comes in other colours too, not just black). Easy to apply, and once it dries you won't notice unless you're looking at it very carefully looking for it.
Thanks for all the responses. I'm more tempted to go for the one10. Hoping to use it with a D800+. I'm going to be using this mainly in my studio room at home, so won't be cranking it at full blast. I usually tend to just add a bit of distortion rather than going full on. The two10s are really interesting and give the insurance that I can crank up even further but might be a bit outside my budget.
Either way I can't wait to try these for myself.
