I tend to not bother going in the mains. The C2s def. Punch above weight.

To be fair, we try to keep reasonable volumes, and I dont feel the need to 'push' a lot of bass out. I rely more on midrange pick tone to be heard. My heavier band is a different story, wherein i use a C8 with good success and where indeed the Two10 I also have coming should cover nicely.

I tried for a while w/the crown _xls-1502_ through my barefaced _super twin_ but at the lamest time it would go into protect mode - CRIMONY! the worst at a gig, correct? I mean better than blowing your stuff up but... anyway, since I went and bought a bergantino _forte hp_ from john fox and NOT ONCE have I gone into protect mode at gig. now I can't totally blame crown cuz I work bass kind of like a thug sometimes and other brand class-d amps I've tried have suffered from that too cuz of that but not this baby. just my experience. oh, the crown's now being used for voice in a prac pad p.s. system where it's working way fine for that.

Yes… bridged, but I'm using the HPF/LPF on the q-strip and not on the Crown. Mine is the XLS-1502 so 1550@4ohms… yes I'm careful with the volume! With the filters and compression to tame spikes, I'm well protected from nuking the cab and (some semblance of) common sense takes care of the rest...

Never had an issue with my xls-1502. I do run the hpf at 30hz. No point in not running it - no frfr setup is efficient at reproducing sub 30hz. No point in taking the amp or the cab. I've ran the amp hard into a pair of bb3s .

Damn Watt I thought I pushed mine hard! I haven't had an issue yet and our last gig was seismic, so i'm hoping for continued good vibes. I actually played it out the night it came in… and I went silent mid song. Looked back, nothing wrong with the amp… didn't trip over my cable… what's the problem? Bridge pickup on my Rick decided to take the verse off. Flip of the switch and back in biz. That freaked me a little.. especially knowing I was playing an amp that was in my hands for about 7 hours!

Also Watt… thanks for damn near a lifetime of inspiration. You're on my Mt. Rushmore. Keep slinging legend!

I got the cabinet before I got a head to run it through. I did try it through my Ampeg PF50T, but it needs retubed and so I couldn't play it very loud.

Today I left the guitar store with a Trace Elliot ELF and a GK 700RBII. The ELF will be a convenient backup/small jam amp, and that was part of my plan, but the GK was an impulse/opportunity purchase... the shop gave me a very good deal on it, and it passed the audition very well.

My original plan was to get a Mesa WD-800, but the one that was available at my local joint sold. So I'm going to borrow one from a friend and give it a spin, then decide. If so, between it and the GK, I will have two very strong options for main amps.

being less younger has helped w/being calmer w/the thump-attack so also WAY LESS strings getting broke - that was another prob w/the "thug touch" mode of operation I seemed chained up to when I was more younger.

love my super twin - that's why I'm here - also love my forte hp powering it w/out any chokes.

One of two Super Compacts that I own. Use my Mesa TT800 or Markbass TTE500 with cabs. Best speaker cabs i ever owned.

anyone use an ag700 with the 210? I have that and a th500 and one has to go. ag700 offers more options for expansion I think altho the switchable to 12 ohm 210 makes that a bit moot for the th500

I finally got around to try running a single Two10S for one of my gigs. I was only using it as a stage monitor but it did a great job. Honestly, I was kinda surprised with its performance (kinda shocking, I know).

I used my Quad Cortex into a Jule M700 amp and my J bass. I was very happy with the stage tone. I'm not so sure about FOH tone though, I didn't exactly get the warm and fuzzies although the sound did seem like he was trying and was good at his job.

I don't often need to use both of my Big Baby 2's , but today we played an outdoor gig at a swim club with a really nice bar, deck, and gazebo set up. Our sound guy was having some trouble with some of the gear and rather than troubleshoot it there, he made some adjustments, one of which was to take me out of the PA, and then he'll trouble shoot it this week when he has time.

Didn't hurt one bit. He (sound guy) got my level set so it blended well with what was coming out of the PA and said it sounded fantastic out in the crowd. I usually use my Mesa D800+ but, since this was outside, I took what's now my backup amp, my old G-K 1001-RBII, and it pushed out tons of great tone. I used a wireless so I went out front briefly and it made me smile.

Love these cabinets. I can't image a situation our band would ever play in where a pair of these 1x12's wouldn't be enough. I only need one in most bars, so I LOVE it when I have an opportunity to use both! Luckily we have four outdoor festivals coming up this summer, so I'll have at leat a few more chances to do that.

I prefer the Mesa and have no concerns about it's ability to have done the job. But I've used it consistently since buying it and kept the G-K as a backup. So lately I've been using some of my "backup gear" on occasion just to use it. The couple of times I've taken the G-K out this year I was reminded that it really is a nice amp. It's still my backup, but it really is a nice amp.

I do the same thing. These days, my main amp is a Mesa D-350, which can handle most jobs. But sometimes I bring out my GK Fusion MB500 just because.

Hi all, got a question for the Barefaced group. I asked Barefaced themselves last week, and waiting for a reply, but I know the group here is a wealth of knowledge too.

I own a BB3 - actually 2 of them, in a stereo setup. I was interested in potentially adding another 12XN cab to each side for more low-end capacity. There's already plenty of highs.

In terms of pairing for 12XN cabs, Barefaced's website (link) says "Two BB3 cabs have the same sonic performance as one BT3." It definitely makes sense that a BB3 would probably be ideally paired to another BB3, as they have the same cabinet dimensions - as opposed to, say, a SM or SC.

But here's my question: If I'm using a Big Twin 3 as a reference point - the BT3 has just 1 HF driver. If I stack two BB3s, I'll end up with 2 HF drivers. In that case, should I turn the crossover on one of the BB3s all the way "off", to get the BT3 "sound"?

And if so, then has anyone had experience pairing a BB3 with, say, a Super Compact? The dimensions may not match, but is it "good enough"? A SC is significantly less expensive than a BB3, and if the high-frequency driver is redundant anyway, I'm wondering if it would be better to go that route.

[I asked Barefaced if they make a 12XN cab that is basically a BB3 (same dimensions), but minus the HF driver. Almost like a Super 3rd, but more like a "Big 3rd". If I get a response, I'll be happy to share here.]
