@J.Wolf, your review sounds like I wrote it. My experience 100%. Mine's a BB2, but I think they're still pretty sonically on par. The physics-defying aspect of it you mentioned is true, it's an embarrassment of riches.

My Super 3rd arrived - looks great, and it does in fact sit perfectly on top of my old model Compact 15. The tweeter control definitely turns as you'd expect, too, and it's obviously pretty darn light.
That's sadly as far as I can go with first impressions, as a couple of days ago my head went pop at a band practice, so I have no amp to run into it. I may get a cheap backup head (thinking something A/B, as every class D head I've had has befallen some awful fate, and it'd give me comfort to have a more reliable - if only in my head - spare), which means I could put it through it's paces then.

Love my Mesa TT-800 through a set of barefaced BB3s. Have you looked at the newer mesa heads?
I've certainly considered it, but there doesn't seem to be many dealers stocking them in the UK, and my band's guitar has a Dual Rec that he's having a nightmare getting fixed. I'm frustrated that my Orange is kaput, but I'm fairly sure it's due to dodgy power rather than the amp.
It's a shame because Mesas sound great.
Too bad about your amp. Yours is the first Super 3rd with tweeter I've heard about and would be interested in your thoughts on how it sounds.
came home to a beautiful new super mini! im very excited to warm this thing up. made the order on 2/7 so just under a three month wait period, in case anyones wondering. speaking of cases, is anyone using the meinl deluxe sherpa lined cajon carrying case for their minis/midgets? is that the current preferred carrying solution?
Congrats! I'm two months into my wait. I'm expecting an email any day asking for the as-yet unpaid balance.
I have BB2's, not an SM or Mini, and I didn't think there was a Meinl bag that fit them. But I do use Meinl bags to carry our floor monitors and they work nicely for that. I'd imagine that something like the SMs would fit in them even more securely since they're rectangluar rather than angled like a floor wedge.
well i ordered the case, will report when i get it. in other news, the super mini sounds fantastic!
I have the older Midget T and use a Meinl cajon bag for carrying it around. Works great!
My head's still out of action and although I've ordered a cheap replacement Harley Benton from Thomann, it won't be here until next week, so I don't know how the cab will sound yet - but I thought I can at least take a photo.
At the bottom is my trusty, maybe twelve year old, Compact 15". After such loyal service, I thought it was about time I paired it with a buddy - a Super 3rd 12", with tweeter.
Looking forward to hearing how they sound together, and the 3rd separately, when I get the chance. Will update with my thoughts when that happens.
Barefaced is a small shop. Probably 4 or 5 employees including Alex. They have a 2 - 3 month wait for orders (I think) so they probably couldn't build enough inventory to stock a shop in the USA. And there may be a bunch of bureaucratic hoops to jump through to do that. Their business model seems to be working well. As do their cabs!

Because I've never been able to work out how to make that viable from a business standpoint. Too many models, too many options and customisations, substantial price increases would be required to pay for distributor/dealer margins, and the USA is such a big country that unless you had a big network of dealers, most customers would be too far away from them. And we'd then lose control of the direct link between user and Barefaced, which is a key part of why people buy the right cabs and use them with the right gear (for their needs) and thus love them.
Well said Alex. Many people don't understand the simplistic beauty of your business plan. No extra dealer markup, no huge advertising costs (word of mouth is still the best ad source), quick, efficient shipping all over the world, and with a two-three month backlog on orders, what's the point?! Also, when you expand beyond your ability to monitor every phase of the engineering, building, and R&D process you lose the capability to make the constant improvements than define Barefaced. The backup Harley Benton head I ordered arrived today, my Orange is still waiting for a repair, so finally got to let rip with the Super 3rd.
Well, maybe not 'let rip', more play at home with the caveat that the speakers won't be broken in properly for a while. Even so, it sounded great to me. Very glad I went for the tweeter, I don't usually use them, but thought it could provide a nice contrast to my Compact's 15" speaker - and it does!
Won't know more until I get to crank it at band practice, and even then I may just take the one cab (it'll be plenty loud enough), but so far I'm happy. It doesn't hurt that it looks like a cool, but reasonably sized, stack
