Official Barefaced Bass Cab Club

Asked this in the Subway thread too as it’s kind of between the two. Has anyone tried using a BF cab to double with electric guitar at home practice volumes? And if so which one? I have a nice little 3 watt tube head I use to practice at home, and since my wife has been getting into playing electric lately I think it would be fun to have a cab that would work for both of us to practice with.

Barefaced Two10 owners, what has your experience been with vertical vs. horizontal orientation of the cab? I'm trying to decide which way to orient the badge.

The vertical orientation seems like a nice height to sit on, has a nice strap-free spot at the top for my Aguilar Tone Hammer 500, is less boomy which is probably ideal for most stages (I generally only use my amp as a monitor), and if I eventually get two I could make a tall 410 vertical stack. However, the horizontal orientation has the "full sonic weight" and is the intended design for the cab considering the high pass filter on one of the speakers.

Which orientation do you find yourself using more? Which one sounds better to you for your purposes and why? If you use it vertically would you recommend keeping the high pass filter or ordering one without it? Is it actually loud enough as a monitor for medium to large-size shows, or should I just sacrifice the convenient one-hand carry and get a Three10?

I always used to use it vertical honestly. takes up less space, sounds great, cuts some of the deeper frequencies that aren't really necessary and sometimes are a bit boomy, is easier to hear.

When I owned mine I think it was mostly vertical/portrait orientation for jamming. Can’t say I noticed much of a difference either way. Not saying there isn’t a difference, just that I wasn’t struck by whatever difference there was.

Looks like my 310 is going through customs now (Indiana) then heading my way soon (Virginia)--looking forward checking it out vs. my Ampeg 410HE and Ampeg Venture 410 with a variety of heads. For anyone else that's waiting on a 10 series, I ordered 12/31, and saw that there was a supply chain issue on the speakers which slowed this down a bit...I know I was obsessively checking their production page for updates. :) Excited to hear how it sounds!

Well folks, GAS has washed over me. I’d heard of Barefaced before but I was young and happy lugging my heavy stuff around. That’s changed and just rediscovered the brand. I recently tried to downsize to PJB but I think I already miss having a tweeter in the rig. Thinking one of these 10’s + tweeter is in my future and schooling myself on the options (particularly if I want the Activier and if so, the 1 or the 2). Look forward to following along!

Same here. I ordered my 310 on 12/29 and looking forward to a tracking number soon 🙏🏼

Seems like a dumb question but I’m unclear about something on the Activier 2, curious if anyone knows: Do you need to need to run a separate cab to make use of the second input? Or, can you run two inputs into the single combo power/speaker unit simultaneously (even though they won’t be in stereo obviously). Curious if One10 equipped with Activier2 could serve as a bass and keyboard combo amp simultaneously without using an external mixer. Thanks!

I also asked Barefaces and will let the group know what I hear back.

The eagle has landed! I'm too busy at work today to test drive, but have weekend plans to line up my (now) three cabs with two amps to compare them all. At first glance it has a pronouned tilt / lean forward (b/c of the wheels in the back)--anyone have issues with heads on that tilt? Or will I learn a way to remove the wheels, or place a small board under the front? This is the 310, btw.

Are the front feet there ? Big black 3/4inch discs
I have a Super twin, and never noticed that.
