I finally got my XB75P in after 8 weeks of waiting. Fit and finish are incredible. This is my first bass with active electronics and I am trying to figure out all of the knobs. There is a toggle switch that I think will switch the bridge humbucker to a single coil but that is just a guess. Does anyone know what and how all these knobs interact? In passive mode it seems like the tone controls don't have any effect on the tone, is this normal?

Hey guys,
I just picked this LB75P used and was wondering if someone could give me a run through on the tone controls and the switch as well..heres a pic at a recent gig. Thanks.

If its anything like my LB75P the switch is for single/dual coil (series only) on the MM-style pickup.

I don't think the rest is the same as mine as I only have 5 knobs (two are stacked knobs).

But if I had to guess on yours (based off mine), if you number them as we see them in the pic 1, 2, 3 on the top row and 4, 5, 6 on the bottom, my guess would go like this:

1: Piezo/Mag blend (center detent)
2: MM/J blend (center detent)
3: Volume (full sweep)
4: Bass (center detent)
5: Mid (center detent)
6: Treble (center detent)

Carvin offers only ebony finger boards for fretless basses. The rosewood, maple, and flamed maple boards are only available on fretted basses.

I'd like a number for the "Official" Carvin club.

I have two of the original design Carvin B5 models with the master volume, pickup-pan, bass, mid and treble control layout.

One has an HB5 (MM style) bridge humbucker and a J99A single coil.

The other has dual H50S ceramic stacked humbuckers which are the predecessor to the newer H50A alnico stacked humbuckers.

I love my Carvin B5 basses!

Weird. Occasionally, when running make-believe builds through, Flamed Maple would show up as a fingerboard option. Was probably just a bug or something.

Oops! I did it again...

Finally in hand. Had to get those Carvin strings off and do some minor adjustments and now she's playing like a champ. Have to get used to this 3 band pre. Not big into mid controls so my Aguilar or Bart 2 band sitting on my work table may find it's way into this bass.

Yes. That was a glitch in the builder program and I hear it's been fixed.
