The serial number on my Carvin is 14629. On Carvin's website, production years 1980-1983 had serial numbers 10768 to 15919 (guitars and basses). Does anyone know how to pinpoint the actual year? 1982???

My new Icon 6. Pics are from the eBay ad, since they are better than I can take:

I got it Friday, and took it to rehearsal last night. It plays great, looks great, and most of all it sounds great. Very punchy and growly. Cut through two screaming guitars and pounding drums with no problem at all. While it does have a lot of mids and treble, I don't hear the lack of low end some people say the soapbar pickups have. I cut the bass a little on the preamp because it was too much.

I love this bass.

This is my Carvin LB75A, bought second hand. I had to rescue her from her previous owner who managed to give her a nasty burn on the corner, and damage the truss rod. One day i'll have to sort out the truss rod problem, and give her a nice setup, because i absolutely LOVE the sound of this bass :)
