Thanks Woody, The Sperzels' are like new after almost 20 years. And they're great because string changes are very fast/easy. I was cruising the Carvin museum and I got a sudden feeling of pride as I looked thru "The Collection". It's like owning an Indian motorcycle or an International; fine American work...

Yeah, I love the Sperzel tuners on my '91 LB70. The early '90s Carvins are really great basses, often passed over by people who believe the "Carvin is only now putting out good basses" nonsense mantra.

I was all ready to put my Carvin on the block for sale. i never did get around to replacing the fried active preamp.

I took it out two weeks ago to give it one last play with the band at rehearsal. Everyone in the band commented on the tone and demanded that I play it more. So it stays!

It's funny, my fingers only just seemed to become finally comfortable on the 6 strings. Just when I was about to give it up!
