Incredible looking instruments! Should my playing and/or budget ever justify a custom bass, Devon will be getting my business. From everything I've seen and read, the quality is second to none with none of the drama associated with so many other custom builders. Question. In the first picture, what is the function of the small recess slightly below the jack? Thanks!

He puts it there to easily remove the magnetic covers he uses on all his Basses. The man does the most meticulous and spotless Electronic install I've seen. He takes that approach on every art of his basses. This is my Electronic cavity and all his basses look this nice. Uses the shield tape and shielding paint on all cavities for pickups and preamps. Electronics are dead quiet and studio recording quality.

Very interested. Saw the photos of the Devon booth at NAMM and checked the website and was blown away by the prices. Wonder if they ship to Canada, I'll guess I'll send down an inquiry to check that out. With our Canadian $ sliding down a bit its put a custom Sadowsky NYC out of my price range. (Landed here over $9K)
Are you playing these through your Genzler gear?

I play through my Genzler 350 stack and the main church I play at full time purchased me a new 350 stack just like mine so I didn’t have to pack mine back and forth. Let’s juat say they are a match made in heaven.

Ridiculous price for a Sadowsky NYC. BTW, the Metros are just as good even if the options are limited. I've owned both.

I love the look of the Nordy dual blades. Are they custom? I don't see them on Cary's site. How do they sound?

Those pickups are amazing in a full band mix and they are powerful, full, and buttery thick while still retaining great clarity. They are the MM style size and standard offerings by Carey. I’ve owned MM Stingrays for years and gigged 1000’s of shows with them and those pickups blew any MM style bass I’ve played.

It's very hard to justify even though they are really good basses. I currently have a Metro RV5 and a NYC deluxe Satin. The NYC is amazing but I was gas'ing for a custom. Definitely exploring the Devon route.

Ok. I was looking at the soapbar page and they're on the MM page. I'm using a Bigman 5 with a 3 way coil tap switch in the bridge position on my Fodera Monarch. Wondering if it's worth switching.

Another genius offering Devon does on all his basses is he installs gain trim pots for each pickup to control and match the volume output of series and Parallel that way there isn’t a drastic spike for drop in volume switching between series and parallel.
