Official Devon Bass Club...

Just pulled the trigger on this beast. I have been eyeballing it for awhile now and had to do it today. This will be my 2nd Devon. I can't wait to be playing this man. View attachment 3342996 View attachment 3342997 View attachment 3342998 View attachment 3342999 View attachment 3343000

Man I can’t tell how many times I’ve looked at that bass. One of the prettiest blue quilt tops I’ve ever seen. The videos of that bass demoing the tone it sounds fantastic too. Enjoy it man.

Played my Gen5 Cocobolo Devon this morning live at our church for our TV program. That bass is the best playing and sounding bass I've ever had in my hands. Played through my Genzler stack and Firefly Tube DI the Pastor said to me after church that is the best it's ever sounded.

Anyone using flats? I've never had a bass with flats, but tried one out at GC, and found it a lot easier to fret (recovering from a fretting-arm shoulder injury). Apparently D'Addario Chromes are as bright as some round-wounds.

@Hambone70

I’ve tried every Flat there is and none of them compare to the brightness of Rounds except for Ernie Ball cobalt flats and possibly TI flats. The Chromes are 3rd in the flats when it comes to brightness. I found the Chrimes to be smoothest of all but the quickly get the traditional flat sound. The Cobalts stay brightest the longest and for he obey are the beat Flat out there IMO.

@Clecoguy

Cobalt flats are my favorite with TI Flats. The cost of Cobalts make them a better option IMO since you can get 3 packs for what 1 pack of TI’s cost lol. Thinking about putting a set on one of my Devons next as they sound really nice in a full band mix.

This beauty is heading my way.
