Bongo 5 HHp played like a dream today, too bad I didnt!
Great compliments on the tone
Played a Big Al SSS today, the same one I returned. Sounded good on a few settings. Plays like a dream... I was leaning on getting a jazz but I hated the feel of the neck & the volume volume tone controls. (Although I could live with em)
Its too bad my Big Al was crap, but it lead me to my Bongo. If the right Big Al came its way in the right color for the right price I might pull the trigger.
Sterling HH gets the next show if I don't need the low B.

Never laid hands on a Big Al or Sterling bass....Supposedly they have similar necks? Both are smaller bodies?
Hope to try one or both at some point ...Really do not want to buy one first to find out if it is a good fit for me or not?

I have seen a Stingray, Sterling, Big Al, and I'm even a member of the Bongo club but I had not seen a EBMM Club. I did some digging and I found one here. This was part two but there were no post since late 2009 and that was a guy asking for a number.
I want to start a new club where we EBMM owners can display and discuss our prized Music Man basses. It's time for the EBMM owners to unite! So what do you guys think?
I propose that instead of using a number system, you just post that you are a member or a member in good standing.
I'm merging the threads...it's kind of silly to have duplicate EBMM clubs floating around.
You guys can work out the numbering/no numbering Thunderdome style.

New guy and beginner here. I tried to do the beginner thing and I bought a Classic Vibe Squier jazz bass and an Acoustic B20 practice amp. That didn't float my boat so I wanted to try a Classic Vibe 60's P bass. That didn't exactly work for me either. I've always had a thing for Stingrays so I decided to check a couple out last week and I ended up really falling for it. I also fell in love with Markbass stuff. So I jumped in with both feet and bought a Cherry Burst Stingray 5 HS and a Markbass Traveler 151P cabinet. I figured if I'm going to learn to play I may as well have some quality equipment to do it on. For now I am using an Ampeg B2R that I already had but I will be grabbing a Little Mark III in the near future and possibly a Traveler 102 cabinet to go with the 15 when the fund is replenished. The bass won't be here until the end of the week so I will post some good pics when it shows up.
Couldn't we have atleast kept revamped and reformed in the title?
If you'd like to work that out Thunderdome Style, let me know!

Wow, purdy. Lol, wish I had a pic of my first bass - talk about cheap. Don't even remember the brand name, definitely never heard of it again.
Have one & love it. Very smooth once you learn the EQ. Great tone all around. Would love to A\B a 5H vs the HH though

Here is my very first SR5 purchased in the late 90's. The bass was a 1995 model and I should have NEVER sold it. I think I sold it in 2001
And here is the HH I had a few years ago. I liked the bass but just never loved it. I think I prefer the H and HS models

Last week i've traveled to Italy, and fell in love with this beauty:

Light as a feather, i suppose it weighs around 7,6 lbs.
I choose it after testing 6 StingRays, 2 USA G&L's (a JB-2 and a L2000), 3 MusicMan Sterlings and 6 Fenders (American Special Precision and Jazz Bass, 2 American Standard Jazz Basses, a Geddy Lee and a Classic 70's).
Hope it cuts through the mix, and sound amazing live as it sounds in my room.
