Always. In the end, I usually go the safe route and take the red Bongo I've been gigging for 5-6 years now. It's my safety blanket.
Question for the club. For those that know me I have a Big Al SSS that I just looooooove! I've had Rays but never a Sterling. To test the Sterling waters cheaply I just bought a SB14 on here (thanks Denny).
I really dig my BA in series mode. Will the Sterling in series sound somewhat similar ya reckon'? More punch, less punch? Thanks fellas.

I don't know what I'd do if I had as many as you... I just have three and everytime I go to play, I have to sit there for a few minutes looking at them hanging on the wall and trying to pick which ones gets time. Lately the Bongo has been getting a lot, but I picked up the Sterling 5H last night and couldn't put it down.
Since I only have one, no. I plan to own more though but I imagine my Red Bongo 5HH will always be the number 1.
I'm not sure man. Never had a Sterling or Big Al.

There really isn't. It's still a hard choice. Do I want to sound amazing, amazing or amazing tonight? HmmmI really don't think there's a wrong choice.
Generall it boils down to picking up one that hasn't in awhile, by color, or by putting all three in cases and randomly picking a case.

I used to have two Stingray 5h's. I liked both of them, but I REALLY liked my black one. It was a little lighter with a black body/matching headstock and rosewood board. It looked really classy and I miss it.

I've actually thought of getting rid of it. Though, every time I mention it, my wife reminds me it was a gift (that I picked out).
It's a wonderful playing instrument. It sounds beautiful. I'm just partial to the Fender sound.

I've never had a problem with the "Fender" sound. I just like the EBMM sound better and their basses have always been built better.
Plus one. Fenders can be great but their QC is still dodgy even with the price rises and the latest American Standards.

I am a big EBMM Fan as well...Not quite sure if I am more in love with my Stingrays or the 2004 Bongo?
Just rolled my 2010 Dargie II Bongo to buy a new 2011 White/Black Reflex HSS.....and Man I gotta say this Reflex blows the roof off the joint and does it with amazing feel and eyeball!!
Other than my first bass...a 1977 Fender P in blonde natural and maple fret board....Never really owned a Fender for any length of time. Just not my thAng

Same here with Fender. It was going to be "THE" bass for me. Bought a brand new USA J5 and the B was meh and the neck had to be constantly adjusted. Every other day adjusting. It was crazy. Also had an 08 USA J5 and while it was better, it was still ok. I've owned several 4 strings as well. Once I got my first SR5 though, I got a taste of REAL quality and since I got rid of it I had been looking for that since. Guess where I found it? Back with EBMM.

Yea it really is....I REALLY love this Reflex HSS!
It has the Bad A^%$ 18V Nature of a Bongo....Neck feels a lot like playing a Stingray....Has the cool Push buttons of the Big Al.
The Rosewood used on this fretboard is Stunning!! A lot of red-ish tones in the wood...
The Neck is as smooth as silk....
I think I have become an EBMM Junkie!!
