I just got this early last week.

I didn't think I'd ever get a four string, but I've been trying to learn how to slap and I find that with my small hands, I really have a hard time keeping the B-string under control.

The finish is "radiance red." It's kind of hard to photograph, but it's gorgeous IRL. I'm just blown away by the quality of this instrument, especially considering the price. She sounds and plays wonderfully. Yay for EBMM. :D

I noticed when I first picked her up that all the EQ knobs had their set screws facing me when they were at their 50% position. This is so awesome that it made me laugh. I love crazy attention to detail like that.

GREAT GREAT GREAT bass! Wow... that's a purdyful maple neck.

ok, i'm not sure if this is the correct thread to be posting this but i'm looking for a new bass and i'm not sure weither to go for the MM Stingray or the Fender Am P-Bass.

Stingray is more expensive, especially in Belgium (i read somewhere on this forum that stingrays in America cost about 1000 $ whereas in Belgium they cost 1300 or something...) but maybe it's worth the
extra $$$.

What do you guys think? I play in three bands (one rock, one metal and one post rock, sludgy thing) so my bass should be as versatile (spelled correctly?) as possible. If you guys have any other recommendations, just shoot...

In the past two months I've used my 2006 StingRay 5 HH on rock, pop, church and folk gigs, a pop session, and a metal session. Not once did it let me down, and not once did a bandleader or producer tell me to try a different bass because the SR5 just wasn't cutting it.

If that's not versatile, I don't know what is.

Yeah, i did some looking into it on the ernie ball forum and emailing ernie ball. Apparently they are manufacturing new SR5's this way because it is easier to produce them more similar to the HH's. As far as i can tell, the pickup switch and the battery case have been moved to where they are on HH's, and the pickup has a different casing or something. I wigged out when i saw that the bass i ordered looked different than all the other single humbucker SR5's i've seen, but now I think it's just because these are the most recently produced specimen.

I bought a Musicman Stingray 2eq, color: natural, black pickguard, maple neck and 4 strings. I LOVE THAT BASS!

However, I should take some pics of it in order to become a member right? Otherwise any idiot can say he owns a Musicman and join :)
