For me a bolt-on is simply a matter of economics. Elrick neck joints are so unobtrusive and comfy that there's no ergonomic reason for me to spend more on a neck-through. As far as the purported longer sustain/decreased punch in a neck-through, I personally cannot detect any difference. If they were the same price, I'd take a neck-through just for the esthetics, however.

Amazing bass. Some of the best maple figuring (quilt and birdseye) that I've ever seen. Just wasn't 'the one' for me
I bought that from Lokire - wasn't for me either. Cool bass though. Anyone know where it is today?
lovely basses. Has anyone got a close up picture of the zero fret from side or quarter angle? I'd really like to see it in detail.

+1. Note decay should be about muting, not the instrument. And as far as the other side of the coin goes, my bolt-ons sustain just fine for my needs.
Has to be adjusted how? It has a truss rod, so that's no problem. Same as any other neck-through bass. You just wouldn't be able to completely replace the neck (if you snap it in half or something
).- i was a little worried that a neck through may not have the pucnch i want after hearing several opinions here...but i strongly feel that between the range of tone, the built in preamp, and the batolini soapbar pickups....i wont have a problem...as a matter of fact ill bet if i put a link for a sound clip no one would even be able to tell the difference
If you mean like a neck shim (to change the angle of the neck in relation to the body), then that's something you can't do on a neck through. But as long as the bass is well made to begin with, you shouldn't need to. It seems like a pretty rare thing to have to do with any bass. But things like adjusting the intonation and action are all done on the bridge, and with the truss rod. No issues there.
If the neck starts to warp, then that's a bigger problem. I wouldn't worry too much about it though.
