That's really a question only you can answer. If you're like me, the features that are built into this unit allowed my board to be cut in half and not have to tapdance as much to get the sounds I wanted. That was a huge value to me. Adding in the series/parallel routing with the two insert options has been a game changer for me.

But for some, it may not be. And that's okay too.

Yes I agree. One of the features I really like is the Stereo routing option. So I can effectively split the H90's DSP's and have one stereo processor at one end of my route for pitches and modulation and the other one on the end for stereo verbs. Which is what I currently do with my pair of H9's.

In the live launch video an example was played with polyphonic drop tuning (about half way through the video I think). Tracking seemed good but it definitely colored the tone.

Well all pitchshifters do, that was kind of hard to tell without more context. I was actually the one who asked the question for him to do that demo turning off the chorus effect.

The HotSawz was one of the first algos I got to play around with. It's crazy, and tracked pretty well on the H9. I'd use it on a gig with no issue at all.

That said, I haven't tried it on the H90, so can't comment yet on whether the tracking has been updated or not.

I think these two sound great, but the tracking definitely isn't perfect. It's not so much the low note tracking (they can definitely hit the low B just fine), but you have to be pretty careful to have clean technique and also not play too quickly. These issues seem to be better on Hotsawz as opposed to Synthonizer. They're definitely not as "idiotproof" for tracking as something like a C4.

That said, I still like using Hotsawz and think it sounds awesome. They're totally usable, you just need to be a little extra careful with how you play.

Note: This is for the H9 version. Also for full disclosure, I don't have a ton of experience with synth pedals, so maybe this is just par for the course.

The synth tracking is not really bad but also not super great. It’s ok-ish. It’s good enough for medium to slow playing. That is on the H9. Curious if this has been improved on the H90.

The H90 looks absolutely insane, and if those 2 synths track well (I haven't met a tracking synth where you don't have to play clean) then to me its a must buy.

If i understand it right the hardware is all there in the H90 to work as a USB audio interface as well but current firmware doesn't support it, but if it was added later as a feature it would make it that much more useful of a pedal (using H90 effects from within a DAW, sending bass thru the H90 direct to computer, or using it as a iOS interface comes to mind).

Yes I know. For me personally 800 euro would the limit that I would spend on a two algos at the same machine. But I have my H9, Boss GT1000core and Axe fx II and quite a few pedals, so no shortage of effects here. The reason I was interested was because of the new algos and the improved pitch shifting.

It seemed pretty similar to the H9 in the demo videos --- press and hold two switches, which is how it is on the H9. Similar readout.

I think it was more of I didn't like the raster/led style font of the tuner on the H9 - silly reason but I personally didn't like it. I was hoping with the new screen there is a more cleaner aesthetic to the tuner legibility. I couldn't find any video reviews that demonstrated it, which I kinda get seeing its just a tuner. The Loopop review showed the initial screen but not the tuner in action.

It was in the long streamed announcement video.

It was a lot like the current one, it shows the offset in cents from the closest pitch. You can adjust the frequency of concert A from 420 Hz through 460 Hz. But it was not the "clock digit" display that you get on the H9, it's a higher resolution readout (as you might have guessed from seeing the screen in general).

Been using the tuner pretty regularly on it. I like it a lot better on the H90, as it is easier to read.

I am surprised that with all the digital capabilities, it wasn't a digital strobe tuner. Petersen can do it, so why not put one in?

As mentioned, same navigation although I feel it's easier due to how all the switches behave.

Interesting feature request - Eventide seems responsive to those.
