Official Joyo Club Part 2: Beyond Thunderclone

I was offered a Joyo analog delay in exchange for a cheapo 31band EQ I've been trying to get rid of for a while. Has anyone tried it? Never had a delay pedal but I've wanted to try one for a while. So I'm going towards yes, unless someone who already has it says no-no. :D

That's a good delay, really usable and minimum loss of bottom end; used to have one and enjoyed using it...

Mine is set gain at 1:00, tone 1:00, switch on hi and volume to taste. However I'm blending it with my clean tone. It sounds like a truck full of boulders driving through a middle school during lunchtime.
I know previously gain and volume for me were at 9:00 or so, and it was hot. Couldn't imagine 1:00! I'll give it a shot, though, you never know.

I have active basses, so that might be why. Do you use passives?

I do use passives, but my pickup configuration is pretty hot.
Plus, the level knob is probably around 10:00, to balance out the amount of gain of course.
But with it blended with my clean tone (via Boss LS-2) I can run the gain a lot higher because my bass's "voice" is still very much intact.
Thump, clank, grind. crush, repeat.

Same here, I blend my dirt and clean tones, let's me crank the gain. Im currently running the gain about noon, tone 1o'clock, level about 9.

I don't have blend as an option, but have considered an LS-2. Is it worth it? My current dirt is handled by a Blower Box and Black Arts Toneworks Pharaoh, with a B3K on slight grit as my "clean" tone. How would you recommend using the LS-2 if I get one? As much as I love my dirt, I do think every so often I might like a bit of clean blend underneath, especially on the heavy stuff to keep anything from being scooped out of the signal.

With some dirt, I personally like a clean blend but I use that less and less since most of my dirt pedals are much more low-end friendly these days. I do like lending different dirts and effects (modulation) together though.

If you want to do that, look at the Wounded Paw blenders as well. They make anything from very small units with less features to monstrous units with a bunch of lops and infinite possibilities.

So, if I'm understanding correctly, to blend in some clean, I'd use the A/B Blend - Bypass mode, and have my dirt in the A or B and nothing in the other. Then, I could bypass all dirt, or have it in the loop. I'd have to have both pedals in the loop, and still turn them on individually for the songs I want them on since I don't want both dirts on at the same time or in the same song. Sounds a bit clunky to me.
