Ok couldnt resist. Went out to try it for a few hours on my rig. Definitely sounded better with some fuzz/distortion before it. Ok here were my results.
I eventually could find a "depth" you can say of the sweep that i liked. The Width had to be around noonish with only slight changes in both directions. Anything past 10-2 and i just didnt dig it. At that point adjusted speed just to preference. Delay and Regen do play with each other drastically but kept them both past noon but never past 4 because thats where it just gets too high pitch and whiney.
Overall i compared it to my Dod FX 75b which i love. I will say this, ive yet to use that pedal in a band context, but just love the sound of that swirl/swoosh. When i finally dialed in the joyo i found a sound i liked but i guess both circuits are just a completely different swoosh. What i will give the joyo credit for is that it has alot more tweakabilty to the sound of the swoosh so more variety for each persons ear. Where the Dod pretty much just covers one sound really well. Good purchase regardless especially for the price.
On a side note, i could be out on a friday nite, but felt really good and fullfilling just jamming by myself and toying with my pedals. Guess its a musician thing common folk wouldnt understand.
Slightly off topic, but my blender pedal is now finished. It works, and now I'll really put it to the test to see if it can give me the combination of that nice UD OD and the depth and character of the dry signal that I need:

Well, my American Sound came yesterday.
I immediately took it to our practice space to try it out.
I only had about 20 minutes to do so but, first impressions, I love it.
Running the gain fairly high, it has good sounding grit, I like it's flavor a lot.
Compared to the UD, the tone shaping is incredible. The addition of the Low, Mid and Hi knobs make this a killer dirt box.
I am in the process of customizing it right now.

These were my exact thoughts. The EQ really makes the pedal shine as a straight dirt pedal. It's great as a preamp but I already have three of these on my board. The American really kills it disguised as a dirt box.

I want one too!! I'd really like to hear it in action as well. Where did you get the schematic/design from??
It might be able to hit Rusty territory, haven't spent a ton of time with it yet.
I think I either got them at small bear or that other big electronics site. It escapes me at the moment. I've amassed a small collection over time. Just order a handful more for my TAFM
To me, its comparable but I dont think youll find an Ampeg sim in a box with the American. I know I just contradicted myself but that it the way it seems to me. Its simply a great preamp that is really inexpensive for what youre getting. I cant remember exactly whats its modeled after. But you can get a nice grindy to dirty preamp that has a great 3 band EQ. Plus, the voice control is really neat. It has a pretty wide range of tones and allows for you to go to vintagey tones all the way to modern ones.
