Official Joyo Club Part 2: Beyond Thunderclone

Figured out my JP-02 issues by replacing it, seems like it was a faulty unit. Drove my new one using the same tests and it has a much lower noise floor. There's still a noise, but it's up towards 16Khz and quieter. I can live with that.

As for my Ultimate Drive, its face displeased my face, so I defaced it.

Didn't even bother with painting. Stopped halfway through 20 seconds with a finishing sanding sponge and went "OoooOOOOoo"

I set mine very similar to yours: 9, 12, 9.

This looks awesome!!! Great job. I remember doing something similar but it didn't look as cool as yours. So I kept going.

It's so fantastic there, adds a needed warmth to my T-Bird, smooths out the B3K and Blower Box I have in front of it. Best $25 I've spent on my entire rig.

Thanks! I wish I stopped a hair sooner on the lefthand side, the "eyes" show up more in real life compared to the photo but yeah. Eventually I'll probably get it etched or something

Got it delivered to my door today from Canada for $29.50.
Will do more testing tomorrow, but sounds nice and clean (noise wise) with some nice subtlety in its dirt. Not sure that I won't wear it with pride rather than stripping it. What kind of Joyo lover would do that? :whistle:

I got one. I don't know anything about comps still but it seems like a decent one, considering. I sanded mine down as well. Painted it black. I should've left it after I sanded it, it looked straight with the green sanded and stripped look. Ah well.

Yeah I know nothing about comps either. That's why I started with this joyo. :)

I dig it, and its always on for me. The only thing I really notice is better balance string to string which is exactly what I wanted so it has stayed on my board. Its just ugly as sin.

Good to hear about the stripping, wasn't sure how the green would look. I'll find out soon enough I'm sure. :bassist:

Yeah, I never understood the hate for the UD's paint job, but man do I hate that scorpion on the comp! Thankfully, I don't need it, but it definitely wouldn't stay stock with me.

I'm trying to find a new setting on my UD now. Something aggressive, almost fuzzy maybe? Don't know, just retooling my board again and the UD is currently redundant. Suggestions?

I didn't....hate it....it just wasnt'.....good. I guess. I dont know. I didn't want just one pedal on my board to have a debilface. This way it matches my Blower Box, and, eventually, getting my Particle etched and possibly B3K as well.
