Official Joyo Club Part 2: Beyond Thunderclone

Anyone with the JP-02 have any high freq noise on occasion? I'm trying to figure out the source, it's not from the LED's or any certain pedal, but it seems when I have over a certain number of pedals it produces noise, and when I pull one out of the chain it seems to go away. I'm not overloading it, altogether I'm running about 600ma through the entire thing and everything is under 100ma except for some Source Audio Pedals running through the 500ma slot (comes out to under 420ma).

Here's the freq it hits at. I boosted it using a para eq on my Zoom B3.

And if you want to test your tinnitus, here's what it sounds like amplified.

I can easily take out the freq with the para eq but I'd rather not worry about it :)

i use a squier VM P, rounds, standard tuning (99% of the time) and to my (not so great) ear there is maybe a tiny bit of loss from the bottom end, but not much, still plenty of thunder available. Not sure how it would affect how you sit in a mix, as i haven't used it in a band situation yet.
How do lows in British Sound compare to U.D. please?

Interesting.
I've not experienced that.
But I don't use the 500ma spot.

How's that Hartke working out for you? I thought of getting one YEARS ago, but ended up not. Your pic just reminded me of that fact, actually!

I used hartke as a tone shaper and a DI box connect it to mixing console or PA. And I connect it to in front of amp input. Amp flat setting. The hartke is a midscoop just like the BDDI. So I used the mix knob (blend) to counter the midscoop by just dialing it back around 10:00 - 2:00. And when i need more mid , i just cut the bass and treble around 10:00-11:00 and I boost the level knob to compensate for volume. And I like the shape knob when footswitch engage, lots of tone variation.

I used joyo dyna compressor to remedy the problem on my bass pick up. The "A" string has a weak output compared to the other string. And joyo dyna comp works, it evens out the output per string. And my tone become punchy and crisp.

Im planning to add a Joyo Ultimate Drive. I need a separate overdrive/distortion. Hartke bass attack overdrive is not enough.

Well - my plans to transplant an American into a 1/2 rack case have been thwarted by the true bypass switch these have. I wanted to put a jack on the back of the case to run a foot switch to turn it on/off remotely. Getting too complicated and expensive.

I set my American and UD up tonight, running into a ART Studio MP > Powered 12/horn wedge. Awesomeness! The American is set up clean and left always on > UD for dirt > Tube MP. What a great sounding, inexpensive set up, with quite a bit of volume!

Agreed they're hideous that's why I cover mines w wood. See: post #41
I have some birdseye maple, getting it ready for my next joyo just haven't decided which pedal yet. For one of these bigger preamp pedals I may have to label te knobs because I get so confused. Not really.
