I'm gonna succumb one day and get the American...
The hype on the UD was great, and while I don't use it much these days, for the price it's amazing! The pedals that it's competing with are oodles more expensive (not that that makes them inherently better), but all this talk of the American being far better than the UD has me intrigued.
These clubs are gonna make me get a bigger pedalboard!

I had no pedal board before I joined TB.

In my opinion, while the UD is a good pedal for the price, the American is a good pedal. Mind, I haven't tried the Tech21 Sansamp Blonde it's apparently based on.
Gutted the American, and earlier today I hit the shops to get the materials to do a refin, I'll keep you guys posted

For those of you who run the American and/or British in your pedal chain, what does your pedal chain look like? I'm thinking of running my American at the beginning as an always on preamp and the British as an overdrive after my UD, so it's: American -- crybaby wah -- mxr bfd -- big muff pi -- blower box -- UD -- British -- Flanger -- Phase 90 -- dimension x delay -- mr black Supermoon reverb -- amp

If you're running the american/british as a clean preamp, do you have the drive all the way down? I've found that when there is no drive at all, it just sounds flat, but if I dont want to add too much drive onto it and make it sound distorted

I run my drive around 9 o'clock for both pedals if I'm just going for a clean sound. They do sound a bit sterile and lifeless without the drive on a little.
i like dirt. I have a British, and American, a UD, a bass Big Muff and a Behringer bass overdrive. on my bass board currently i just use the Brit, American and BBM. British set up basically clean (drive at 10 o'clock) the American for more dirt (drive at 1:30) and the BBM at 10,2,2 on the dry setting. Any 2 of these in combination sounds fantastic, but if i try all 3 at once it just turns into complete mud, is this just the signal getting over-saturated?
