I need to swap my American and British around and run the american clean at the end of the chain, and experiment with the British as an OD more.

I can't wait. It is supposed to be here on Saturday. Practice on Sunday, so I'll give it a proper run. I'll try it feeding the Rat first, since I've grown fond of pbass into Rat. And then the UD in the mix, it should get interesting.Both.
I have some pedals that sound better bass--»dirt--»American--»amp. And some sound better bass-->American--> dirt--> amp.
It's all subjective to your likes anyways, but this is exactly why my board arrangement changes every few weeks.
I've tried to optimize my board for running to DI or a borrowed amp set flat and clean, so my theory is to use the American to simulate an amp in the chain. Anything after the American is things I'd otherwise want to run in an amp's effects loop -- at the moment that's only a noise gate.
Are you planning to use it clean or dirty?
Tomorrow will be my first go with the British as dirt in a full band mix. Will report back with my findings.

We will see! If it can take the place of the BDDI, it will be clean. It may take the place of the UD or the Eno Rat. Going to have a nice drum and bass session tomorrow. I'll have lots of time to tinker.
And you have run an American in this capacity if I recall correctly.
I'll be interested to hear how they compare/contrast.
Sure have. It won't be a completely fair comparison, because I won't be using my usual gigging setup with a clean and dirty channel both running through the PA, but it should give me a good idea whether or not I want to keep things this way.

Yeah I strongly dislike the color of the British. Just haven't decided how I want to refinish yet. Thinking of trying the "mod podge" thing.

Can someone explain to me you put a new cover on it? I understand that you would unscrew the cover off and then scratch it off with sandpaper, but as for the design, are you printing it on a sticker or...
