Hey JP, I do want to incorperate this model this coming year. I will have to do a few more steps as you said since it is a set neck but I definately want to work that up and ince that is done there will probably be a cross the board option for other models so it is a cool thing.

I'll keep my eyes open. I'm thinking that I'll be in the market for another bass around tax time, so I'll remember these. Your single cut bodies strike a very good note with me.

Its so nice to see your basses coming back to life JP.....not only do I miss my Zia, but this also brings back a different time on Talkbass too :). Also Pete's a fine luthier and a nice guy so its a match made in bass Heaven!

Looking forward to seeing the new ones come out-

I will be the recipient of the very first Skjold-JP "Zia" 5 string bass. Serial no. 1 will have a swamp ash body with a very nice highly figured Katalox top with matching peghead veneer, hard rock maple neck with super flamey quatersawn maple fretboard and black MOP dots. I believe Pete will be installing the new 2 piece bridge as well. I am told she is almost done, so pics will be forthcoming!

Just wanted to mention that I want into the club, too!
I'm the owner of OwO's "old" JP Plume 7, this one to be precise:

It's a fantastic instrument, got it from France nearly 3 years ago and it really helped me developing my skills a bit. :smug:

Sadly it doesn't get much use nowadays....when I played in my old prog-band it was perfect, but in my current engagements I already get strange looks when I turn up with a 5-string...:scowl:
I just didn't have the heart to sell her yet and at least it's still great fun to noodle around at home.

Anyways, I'm glad to see that there are new JP's being in the making, though not by JP himself and on the "wrong" side of the pond...
But Pete seems to do a fantastic job, so I don't want to nag. ;)

Yeah I can't wait to see it. I am a bit of a katalox fanatic, mostly because I love the color, and I love the sound of lots of ebony in basses...and katalox is cheaper. :D

I am glad that Pete is taking on the resurrection of JP basses, because they were great instruments. I had the luck to play two, and they were fantastic. I am sure Pete will continue that vein very adeptly.

So good to see a Zia come alive again...and built by a great builder too. My Zia ( my fav JP shape along with the Plume) was a very cool bass and so unique in many ways.

This one looks great. Looking forward to seeing it done.
