His handlers won't let him use the phone.
Panda whats really stopping you from getting a Lakland?
It's due to the inefficient digestive system.... pandas spend 10 to 16 hours a day foraging and eating the 30-40 pounds of bamboo they need to survive. Give a panda a Lakie, and it will die a very swift (although bassfully blissful) death.
Wouldn't that be Panda cruelty?
My favorite non-Lakland axe will be up for sale soon.
I'm sure it will be worth it.
Great anime by the way...

I've been posting that screencap for about 2 years now, and you must be the first person on TB to recognize where it's from.
Hey gang... I'm attempting to dial in my tone a little more with my 44-02 on my Eden Nemesis NA320 head and would love some input from you all... My typical signal chain is the bass into an ART Tube preamp, then to the head, and using either one or two SWR Workingman's 2x10 cabs, or a 1x15 and 2x10 cab depending on the band/venue. Total wattage handling is 400 watts with either setup, and the head is rated at 320 watts at 4 ohms.
The issue I'm having is that things sound a bit 'boxy' when completely flat, using all pickups with all coils on... I chalk this up to the cabs mainly. The head itself is great, and I know the sound of the bass direct inside and out. I've had success with dialing in a moderate amount of the enhance knob, which cuts some of the low mids but also boosts the highs and lows. I usually end up rolling the master bass control off a little bit after this adjustment and it cleans things up nicely, and frees up a bit more headroom. I was experimenting with the parametric EQ as well to cut some of the mud out (300-500 Hz depending), but the enhance seemed to clean things up pretty well for me. I head to the onboard EQ for a touch of extra mids if necessary to tighten things up after the fact. The good thing is that everything is pretty easily cleaned up without excessive EQ. Naturally, the 44-02 flat into the board is beautiful. Anyway, what are other Eden + Lakland 44-02/4-94 players using for settings? I'd like to at least have a benchmark for comparison.
Hm. can't help you there. I'm doing Lakland > Ashdown head > Ashdown 210 cab. Whereas I really like Eden cabs, I've never got on well with an Eden head.
Which Ashdown head do you use? I love my MK500 into my ABM410, although I'm really curious if I'd like the ABM500 head more, but there's no where to try them around here.....
Since this got buried overnight, I'm bumping it... thanks for any help!
i ahve a 55-02 and a wt-400 / 2x ht112 and having been slowly experimenting with tone. my current tone is similar to yours. i have enhance knob around 10 o'clock and some mid cut around 300.
anyway, there is the sound i like when playing alone, which is definitely scooped. and then there is the sound that works best in the band. one of my gtr's loves his thick warm sound that turns me to mud. i have been talking to him about it for 2 yrs to not much avail. that is why i have been trying lots of different eq'ing. for better or worse the eden's allow for lots o' possibilities. i currently believe my eq (oh, with a slight bump in the mid-100's) seems to work best.
so there are lots o' factors to consider. i also use flats. and then there is where you set the mid freq control in the lakie....
Its taking me 4 years to get the money together for my 40th birthday Sadowsky. I'm thinking that putting the scratch together for a US Lakland would be pretty hard.
But I (don't laugh) bought a lottery ticket after I saw the LOG P5 for exactly that reason. Now that I've seen what a P will look like with that crazy 5-string headstock, I'm all over that like a fat kid on a chocolate bar.
Really guys?!?!? You know i have a problem with changing my mind on basses, so seriously!??!?!?! C'MON!!! That Teal Green is KILLING ME!! AND THE CHI-SONIC!!! AND THE MAPLE NECK?!?!?!?
How long will the LOG Bass be around?? *finds change jars*
Paaaaandaaaa...
Buying a Lakklie is considered to be a direct cause of giddiness and dancing.
