hehehe. i couldn't very well get a gimped lakland...so a 4 string would come from another company...right?

nope....so...........if you already KNOW you play the best...why try the rest?

this is why I Never walk into GC or any other music store unless I am going in for strings etc...

I usually peruse the "wall of bass" but then realize I do not see anything I really want....because I KNOW I can get it from Lakland!

I trust you. I can't SEE them but I trust you :D
I don't worry though, I am getting one when I renew, and Doug says they are prettier in person
I trust him too :)

I knew computers are sheer magic. Now out of sudden I CAN see the design (and the bottle of beer for payment). Don't have any idea how this happens.

I do like the design! Glad I'm getting that shirt
And, thanks for mentioning a 55-94 in it! :smug:

:bawl: Last night I was writing down the lines at home. I was standing, and suddenly the strap slipped and the bass fell down on a stool and jumped on it, leaving dings and marks on the edge and bottom of the body. I also broke my cable (it got under the bass when it fell), but that's nothing compared to the bass. Don't know if I damaged just the finish or there are other issues too. Good that I still held the neck so it didn't fall to the floor. Good that didn't happen on stage either

Damn...that sucks. At least the neck didn't slap on the floor.

Bummer, Dennis! But it is good to get the first ding out of the way. Of course, that's easy for me to say--I'm going to be sad when it happens to my Skyline Decade.:bawl:

thanks for support, everyone!

I think I may need a set up. It is a coincidence but I'd just installed the LH3s so I'd use some fine tuning anyway.

As for the first dings, I've stopped grieving them long before this bass came in. And, this exact bass has tons of mojo in it (second from left, compare to the black Shoreline):
Invalid Link Removed
I'd decided not to re-finish or renew it in any way, it like how it look, a rusted closet treasure

UPD: What could be interesting to some, there are pics of my former 4-94 Std. Shoreline (including the headstock logo), and of an Edwards et 170 that ESP modelled after the 55-94

Honestly, I kinda like that bridge that is a little bit "weathered".
BTW, nice collection!

me too. I cleaned up the bass, degreased the metal parts, but left all the rust and discoloration where it was. Cleaned up and oiled the fretboard but chose not to polish the finish

Thanks :)

I seriously prefer Laklands out of these. Hoping to get a fretless and a JO5 soon

So I understood, thanks!
I will soon renew (although my membership expires in July, IIRC) and hoping to get 1 'ole, 1 new shirt
