Could not agree more...

i have played and owned both, the neck is a bit thinner on the decade,
and sound of the decade is awesome, you can get a great thick p'ish tone from the neck pickup. if your into slapping it could be tricky with the neck pickup so close to the neck, you have to pop in back of the pickup, sounds great though. the bridge pickup is growl for days. and with both pickups on you get almost a phased effect like the scheff.

of course i am talking about the single coil passive decade though.

I forget exactly when but it was sometime in 2007.....my CAR is from 2002....ar you sure it is 2007? I did not know that color was an option then....is it a Duck Dunn (Glaub with a blocked jazz neck)?

I'm unsure of what year the bass is from, but I know it's a Glaub (no blocks and matching headstock). On the Lakland site they say that they had custom colors available on skylines in 07. I assumed CAR was a custom color because it isn't available anymore or was it discontinued? Does this mean that BGs that aren't sunburst or black are older?

you could email [email protected] he could give you more info on your bass. as far as the pickups go, they used the fralins in 2007, im not sure of the exact switch date but nsometime in 2008 they started using the lakland pickup in the glaub

to find the age of your bass, look at the serial number the first 2 numbers are the year the 2nd 2 numbers are the month

i must have scared everyone from posting, huh. i'm scared of that timer thing, too, but the urge to post and outdo myself is coming on strong. i'm kinda excited that i'm gonna be getting an HH sterling instead of the HS ray.

I still have to tell the guys over at bass central that, tho. i figure i may as well just buy new rather than used since i plan on keeping this bass for a lifetime or two. ;)

then a human base 5 string to have some fun with before i pick up a -07 from Lakland.

I would say order the -07 THEN buy the other basses....that way you can have them for 6-8 months before the Lakland arrives and you can get them "out of your system".

Just a suggestion!

hehe...I think i will start the ordering process in the next couple months. I just sold the 55-02, though, so i will have to get something in the meantime and a sterling HH in pearl white/maple neck is my choice. I'm gonna emulate that 4-94 and try to get some black hardware off a stealth musicman.

what does lakland require to get an order in? can you just do a deposit and then pay the rest over time? what is the initial amount required, percent-wise?

Hey guys quick question about the Skyline Decade...

i'm on tour starting mid june and i'm thinking about getting a new bass for it. I'm also updating my rig, but thats another story.

Has anyone played a skyline decade? I was wondering how it plays, and how the neck feels. I absolutely love the way it looks, as well as the sound of the chi-sonics, and the fact that they're coming plek'ed is awesome, but no one near me carries them in-house. it's usually a special order kind of thing.

Right now i'm playing a 60th anniversary p-bass special, and then another p-bass special that I distressed and modded a bit. I also got some bassline spb3 pickups thrown on there :D

so, if anyone has a comparison of the decade vs. the p-bass special, that would be awesome. specifically with the neck. they're both jazz necks, but my modded pbs's neck is exceedingly thin.

thanks!

You ASKED for it!!!!!

maybe you should start a new thread.....the answers may take us to part 17......
