Official Lakland Owner's Group (#17)

WOW! You guys have a RIDICULOUS amount of threads! :-P

Now, I didn't come all this way (from number 6) without a reason.

I'm currently a Warwick-o-phile, but am exploring other avenues. Something about the weight and size of body has got me wanting another bass, possibly even a brand jump. (About to get rid of the Ampeg, so why not two jumps in one year?)

I've always been turned on by Laklands, and seriously pitch pup tents at the thought of a Teal Burst 44-94 with an all Maple neck strung with Elixirs... See, it's happening right now.

So, I have a question, how would some of you guys describe the similarities in tone between a Corvette Pro Line / Streamer LX / Streamer SS1 (which are somewhat similar) to that of the 44/55-94 series? I love my growl to death, and am not willing to give much of it up. (Thinking of getting a stand-alone eq that I can boost the proper hertz anyway though.)

I'm not one hundred percent sure if I'd be going US line right off the bat, but if it feels better than than the import line, chances are I will. (I have the feeling I wouldn't be able to tell a difference, these things look to be the most consistent and solid bass out there right now.)

Welcome, "Ty".:D I have no experience with Warwicks, really. But have you checked out the soundclips on Lakland's site? Here are some of the 55-02, which has the same electronics as the 4-94.

I've owned a few Corvettes, 4 and 5 string. For me, it's all about the neck. When it comes to necks, there's no bass I'd pick over any Lakland (U.S version). Growl of course is subjective, but once I purchased my first Lakland (4-94) I haven't looked back or thought of the tone of any Warwick I owned, In fact when I went to Bass Central to pick up my Gold JO 4, I traded in my last Corvette to off-set the purchase a bit. The Warwicks are nice, but do not compare to a Lakland, IMHO.

Of course everyone part of the LOG will say pretty much the same...you won't be disappointed playing a Lakland :bassist:

Are there any Dark Star users out there that have Rogers (Jeannie) thumb rest on their bass?
I'm thinkin about these, cuz there's really nowhere to rest with DS smooth/low profile.
And then I'm concerned about the aesthetics of these on a Decade.
If you have 'em installed on your Lakland can you post a couple pics?
