c) Include an Ampeg with every Lakland and a personal engineer???

I love the sound of a 55-94 through an SVT4pro/810 cab... it sounds like butter. So smooth and fat... it's like an 'eargasm' :bassist:

Feel free to pass that along to Dan :D

Ha, to each his own I guess. :) I sold all my Ampeg stuff after getting my first Lakland (55-94). Had a '91 SVT 3 and newer US 4pro and 4 Ampeg cabs (early 90s 4x10 and 2x12, and 2 410HLFs). I fell in love with a Carvin B1500, and a Berg NV215 and a Dr Bass 2460D. Now, I use two Genz Shuttle 6.0s cause they're lighter and sound 99% as good as the Carvin.

how bout getting him to do black hardware again...doesn't mean he has to do other colors...just black. tell him that's why i got my sterling, instead of a USA Lakland...because ernie ball sent me black hardware.

convince him to do black hardware. don't just mention it for the hell of it...convince. use that dougie charm. :ninja:

YES!!!! Convince him to do black hardware. Heck, I just called them two weeks ago asking about black hardware. And not just for the U.S. models (like Sadowsky). Let the -02 models have it too, and maybe a special skyline JO or DJ. That would be nice.

What pedals are you running through?

I don't know what it is... just something about Ampeg. There haven't been many rigs I can dial right in for what I play.

i only patch in a pedal in if i need it--i ended up splitting the signal thru the radial switchbone and going straight in (two separate lines). the pedals are: EH knockout, EH big muff, EBS octave, EH black finger, and a Sadowsky pre. I use the EH blackfinger the most

Ya know, I tried the SVT4Pro, and I never wanted to put my bass down so much in my life. Absolutely was not right for me. I'm throwing up in my mouth a little right now just THINKING about it.

Black hardware doesn't do much for me, really. I thought it looked killer on that trans-white/maple 4-94. Otherwise, meh. :hiding:

LOL. Yeah, in the hybrid-amp department, as well as modern cabs, I'll take Mesa and Aggie over Ampeg all day.

Vintage Ampeg tube heads are a very different ballgame, though. I'm really loving my V-4B so far!

When I was opening the thread, the survey was showing 966 posts. When I opened, it was 967. I think we're finishing #18 in a few seconds
Remember, someone :ninja::ninja::ninja: promised Doug we weren't starting #19 until he's back, so the next one should be #18 pt. 2

He's back, so it's OK ;) I think the thread will really die down a bit this weekend, though, with the GTG going on, so all you guys need to stay strong and push #19 along :)

not bad!!! how big? like a Camry?
Thanks, it is not bad indeed! Just got myself outside after a 400+ miles ride - drove my family to fly off to Austria. I'm not getting the Nord Schleife of the Nuernburgring this time :bawl:
Avensis is half a step below Camry in measurements and positioning. Like, the same engines available except for the top-est one and so on

Darn it!!! sorry guys....the links worked when I first tried them, but yahoo was also open at the time....

anyways - look it up before you go as it is not easy to get to...

the 2 worked the same way for me, the crosshair aiming at a Smith County. I wonder what state that would be :D

EDIT: You said a "d-word"?!! 100 melodic minor scales for you! And don't forget to wash your hands!

ahhhh! forgot to make an important notice:

the multiquote button doesn't work for me, neither with Mozilla nor with Opera. As you might have noticed, I also haven't been able to attach tagged pics and direct links since the day I joined the TB.
So, I'm sorry but I can't cut my... whatever... to a lesser number of quotes and posts.
Please believe me, I ain't trying to set a world record in posting... well... as far as the LOG monthly giveaway is not concerned :D

cool weaponry you've got!

Speaking of Les Pauls, I've been laughing my head off for a few days over this one:

Les Paul, at the age of 93: "Boy, do I know you?"
Zakk Wylde: "Yeah, I have a Signature Zakk Wylde Les Paul. You know, the one with a bull's eye"
Les Paul: "That's funny... I have a signature Les Paul too."
:D:D:D
