I've been playing in a cover band for the last 2 years and using a Ampeg svt3 pro with Ampeg 4x10 and a 1x15. It worked great at cruising speed but never could get the thump that I wanted and on ballads it seemed weak. The tubes were sweet when they started to compress and the sustain was phenomenal.

I tried out a LMII and liked the sound so I got a 4x10hr and the LmII. Took it to practice and used it with the Ampeg 1x15. Everyone thought it sounded fuller and thumpier than the Ampeg rig. The singers also liked it and said it was easier to sing with. My take was that without the sustain of the Ampeg it allowed me to better hear between notes and seemed to open up the space to allow the singers (we have 4 of them) and the guitar players to have more sonic space. When I needed the old Ampeg sound I just cranked up the LVE and held the note a little longer.

I enjoyed playing the LmII and found that my playing became more musical and was extremely happy that because of its rapid response I was able to express myself very easily and hear a very controllable sound.

I went back yesterday and got the 1x15 which I will add on Friday night. I also picked up the f1 just to see how it stacks up against the LmII.

I can't tell you how surprised I was at the sound of their cabs. They definitely have a sound that can be altered at will. I could never do that with the Ampeg

So I guess you can now count me as a convert to Solid State Markbass and their cabs.

Own 1 LM II and using 2x10 combos at one of my bands rehearsals (where the singer owns one and plays bass as well).

I'll take a number please.

Just a real quick post, I'm super happy that MF now has Markbass products, and that they have a bunch of the models that GC didn't have. Very nice. Someday I still have to check out an F1! :)

$2600 US. And no, I haven't tried one. They're not in America yet, and I'm also afraid to try one. It's not as if Markbass hasn't made enough money from me. Now they have to make a tube amp. That's just cruel!

Hey Everyone,

I just switched amp companies last week (from Aguilar to Markbass), I'm really excited! Thanks to Peter, Marco, and everyone at Markbass for bringing me on board!

Looks like I'm an official member of the club here now.. ummm where do I hang my coat? Is the punch spiked? Are those cookies free? I think that Markbass 4x10 in the corner is giving me the eye.. :) Give me a number!

I'm not sure that the punch is spiked, but it does have a little wang to it. ;)
