Well, I took this photo to show off my new bass in the jackson thread but since it includes my amp I'm posting it here too.

This is my first decent amp by the way, and I love it. :bassist:

I just picked up a Marshall DBS 7210 Cab to go along with my 7200 and 7400 heads...

anyone have any other DBS cabs they would want to sell??? I am looking to get one of each cab, or basically, everyone I can buy...

I would love to get a 115 or 410 now.

Hit me up anytime on here...

Sorry to hijack this thread but I need to ask two things about Marshall amps and cabs:
1)Is there a huge difference in sound and build quality between the MB cabs and the VBC cabs?
2)Will the sound of these amps fit in an alt rock/brit rock band (imagine Oasis, R.E.M., QOTSA, Arctic Monkeys, Placebo...)?

1) dunno...never heard/seen VBC heads and cabs.

2) MB amps have a huge range of tones available in the Modern (transparent) and Classic (overdrive) channels. The bonus is the Blend feature, with which you can really dial in a custom setting for just about any style.

Obviously...best to go czech one out in person. :D

Here it is - my Marshall stack. I didn't plan for this, it just kinda evolved. :)
I started out with the MB4210 combo. I thought that should be all I ever need. Come on, I'm 47 and I haven't played in a band in over 15 years. In fact I've hardly played at all in that time. All I'm going to do is plunk on a bass once in awhile, maybe play a little electric guitar through it.
Well, I got out and jammed with some friends a few times and it was really, really fun.:D
To me this amp sounds surprisingly good and seems to have lot's of power but I got the 1x15 extension cab any way. It makes a great little rig with just two cabs and brings the controls closer to eye level but it leaves me nothing at home unless I bring it back with me. So I got the MB450H head. I'll be getting the 4x10 before long and then I can keep the combo at home and use the "stack" everywhere else. It also gives me an identical a back up amp and I can now attempt Ric-o-sound, at least as soon as I can get a stereo instrument cable. :bassist:

The MB range are made in India and are very well priced, they are mostly SS type amp with a preamp tube.
The VBC range is top line stuff mad in the Marshall factory in England, the VBC is all Tube, and if you can afford one, choose that over the MB range, they are Quality.
Nothing wrong with the MB range, i have a MB450H head and the MBC410 and MBC115 cabs, and am happy with the sound i get.:hyper:

The MB range is made in Vietnam, not India BTW.

I'm one of the ones who has a MBC410/115 set-up, but I might have gone with 2x410 had I done some more research. I can't say I've A/B'd both, but many here say that the 10" speaker provides better articulation of lower frequencies than does the 15", particularly on 5ers. I believe there's also a MBC810 fridge, but that probably weighs a metric ton, and a pair of 410s should provide the same benefit (450W/2 ohms) without the size/weight.

Having recently started playing a 5 (Ibby BTB455), I can anecdotally attest that I have to EQ my lows back a bit and boost my mids in order to have some clarity on the B, particularly when I run the 115 alone vs. running the 410 alone. Not that big a deal if you have an active bass.

I think this is a matter of personal taste...however I am currently running a 2-10 and an old 1-15 cab. The 15 gives me the low end that I love (this is with a neo driver) but is also clear and responsive, added to the crisp punch that the 2-10 gives combines to make me very happy (and my band also):bassist::D

hey im thinking of buying the mb4210, and potentially getting some more speakers in the future when i get more money, probably the 1x15 or the 4x12 cab, just wondering if people think these amps are a good buy! also i already have the mb30! so now you can see why i need to buy a bigger amp...

Hi, hopefully I should qualify lol. Got a rather nice Marshall DBS7400 and the DBS7152. Will get some pics up as soon as I can. I have only played a few rigs and this one is by far the best. I was playing an ashdown rig for a while which was nice and a Hartke but the marshall is just in a different league, loads of tone capabilities and lots of power, the valve blend is amazing..........awesome. Do I get a number :hyper:
