Great story. Yeah, Behringer stuff is for beginners. It's low quality.
I am enjoying my MB4210 more and more. The seemingly easy control panel is very sensitive. When you think you can't dial in a tone, just tweak the mids a little, and there it is. I really love the power of this little beast. Nice punch, and DI out makes it really all you need. Yes, I do have my Ampeg/Crown rig, but for most scenarios the Marshall MB4210 is really great.
At first, I liked the "classic" channel. Now that I've played with it and got a little more familiar with it, I tend to like the "modern" channel better ! Good job, Marshall. :bassist:​

Bit of a long story how I got this amp, I formed my first band on bass with a mate and didn't have an amp. I needed something cheap and easy so I bought a BEHRINGER (never again!) BXL3000A, sure enough after a matter of weeks it blew.

I didn't have a receipt (lost it!) but took it back to he shop on a hope and prayer, they took my amp and promised me a call.

Sometime later the call actually came and the guy told me it was a blown speaker, I told him it was due to the 200w speaker and 300w head and I didn't want a replacement. He asked me to take a look on their site and I spotted this baby, for £90 more it seemed too good to miss sO I asked him to order me one in.

2 weeks and a lot of worrying later I received an Email telling me it was ready for despatch, he sent it me out yesterday, received today and no invoice for the £90! Looks like I just got this amp, brand new, for £220!!

Well I took my new baby to our practice room tonight and fired her up, got practice tomorrow night so wanted to get set up.

Have to say I'm very impressed, yet to try it with our band but so far so good. Can't wait to hear myself tomorrow night!!

Great sounds after just half an hour, very impressed, infinetely better than the boosted mids of that Behringer.

Also, what's really cool, is that you can unplug the 210 cab and you have TWO 4ohm outs !!! What does this mean ? OK - Imagine - With this Marshall, you can power TWO 810 cabs at 450w !!! Now THAT's impressive (and makes this so versatile !)

Well it's been through 3 practices now and jus gets better and better!!

What a fantasticly versatile amp this is for the money. I am definetely gonna get the 15" extension cab for it, just because I'm so happy with the sound!

I'm no electrical engineer, so you would need to check with one, but...I don't see why not. Think of it as a string with a "switch box" between both ends. All you're doing is swapping one box for another. In my brain that would work, but as I stated I'm no electrical engineer.:atoz:

I council beginners to buy good quality used pro gear. The novice doesn't struggle with the gear and has only her/his personal limitations to hurdle.

When they want to sell the inexpensive beginner gear there is no market as those folks want new stuff. When they lose interest and wish to sell the used pro gear they can recoup most of their investment. If they don't lose interest they have great stuff to trade and/or move easily for something of a different flavor.

With mixed emotion, I am announcing I have officially sold my Marshall rig :hmm: While the head has more power than my current Peavey VB2, the cab was just too ungodly to move about - even with my custom made transport dolly.

To all who read this, please note that I am NOT getting rid of a crappy import rig just riding strictly on the name alone. I will always remember this Marshall rig and experienced many a great performances with it. :bassist::D:hyper:

Shame to see you go kissmybASS01 you were one of the first on here with the MB rig & you had some great advice & were very helpful with answering questions for myself which lead to me purchasing the same rig. I'm sure you helped others too. Marshall should've had you on a commission ;) you are right the cab is bloody heavy & I have eyes out for a practical alternative. All the best mate.

I saw Jack Bruce in West Bruce & Laing when I was 12 or 13 and jack had two stacks of those (4 cabs) with 200W Marshall Major heads. The top cabs were slant style so the stacks looked like marshall stacks - only BIGGER.
Sounded totally rad with his Eb3. It was a long time ago but when you're a little kid that stuff makes a BIG impression.
Lemmy Kilmeister uses those cabs on the bottom of his stacks. They're rare.

Got this pic from the Dean bass forum, It's Lemmy from Motorhead. The nicest setup you'll see...1 Marshall head, 1 Marshall 4x12" cab, 1 Marshall 4x15" cab. Not sure of watts but I'm sure it's way over a 1000.

I bought a Behringer BX1800 amp (180 watt, 1x15"). No problems as yet, I did take out the horn to give the 15" driver a vent hole (stock box is sealed...very dumb), if not the speaker will blow. Also I made a custom front with screen to see the speaker (looks way cooler). This amp is very loud and has great sound. Running it with a Dean ZBX bass, a Peavey bass and 7 different Behringer pedals and everything sounds awesome..no problems at all.

Can I just ask do you use thi amp for home practice or full band practice and gigging? If it's the latter then a I'd just wait a month or two before you pass it as problem free.
If you are using it at home and never really pushing it then it will be fine. I had 2 problems with my behringer BXL3000, number one was the horrible forced mids sound (no true bass punch) and the second was putting a 200w speaker in a 300w combo.
