hiho.well i run a behringer bass driver with my mb450 n a ricky 4003 and the sound is huge,the classic ricky sound.I am using two 2x10 peavey cabs at 4 ohm giving the whole 450 watt.
I quiet fancy runnung a 4x12 marshall bass cab with this like a jcm800 bass cab,what do you think ?.I would be running one of the 2x10s as well.
I had an issue with this amp the sound was bad with loadsa feedback so the preamp tube got changed and bobs your uncle thunder days are back.

You could make one up pretty easy - £5 project box from maplin/Radio Shack, a stereo jack and 2 footswitches, just wire up as in the pic here and connect the common centre terminals of both switches to the yellow Ground lead.

Just had my new rig [MB4210+MBC115] up and running at a (fairly loud) practice with the band, got a lot of smiles and a scared drummer. It was great - really rich, authorative tone and it was really just on tickover. Best sound by far was classic channel voice 1 with just a hint of modern blended in (blend on 9) and compression on 3 - stacks of depth and warmth with a hint of bite from the modern - the ss preamp sound is very tyransparent, it benefits from having some of the mids knocked out of it. I'm using mid freq set between 4 and 6 and the middle knob on 3 (5 is flat). The modern channel also needs a much higher bass setting - the classic has enormous bass, I turned it down to 4 but had modern set on 7-8 to keep up.
The only negative for me is the classic gain - the overdrive sound to me is really insubstantial and had me going round checking the cones and the speaker grille for rattles.
Great to be able to keep up with the band volume effortlessly - leads to much more dynamic and expressive bass playing.
All in all, tremendous value for money and a very versatile system.

My setup is a 1973 or 1974 Super Bass into JCM800 Bass Series 1520 4x12 cab and JCM800 Bass Series 1551 2x15 cab.

the MB is 450 watts at 2 ohms, only 300 at 4. you could add two more 210's and then you would get the full 450 watts, and ear damage.

Hi guys' not applying for number as I don't have the gear yet, and living where I do getting any good gear is a real pain not to mention expensive.

Anyway I'm looking for info, can anybody tell me the frequency response of a MB450H and a MBC410, also at what hz the EQ knobs operate as I can find no info whatsoever on Marshalls website and have had no response from the tech dept via e-mail.

Can i get a number? I own a Marshall VBA400 and a Marshall VBC412 and it just sounds awesome! I totally agree with what Lemmy says, you can order them without trying them first, they really are that good!

I recently sold the Ashdown because I don't need a 400 watt and 300 watt amp, and I actually do still use the ValveDrive, as a distortion pedal, because I can't crank the Marshall without upsetting the neighbor(hood) too much.

Hey guys...just wondering if any of you MB owners have had this happen to you?

Every time I turn my rig on, I get a louder-than-hell popping sound from my speakers. I ain't kidding...it moves air!

The amp sounds great and I love the HUGE array of different tones the modern/classic/blend is capable of, but I'm afraid that the pop will damage the speakers and that it may be a symptom of some other problem.

I've made a habit of turning all of my volumes down before I power down, but even when I do, it still pops when I power back up?

Any ideas? It's an MB450 into a MBC410 and MBC115. I use the supplied power cord run through a fused power strip. Thanks in advance...E207:help:
