Sometime in the next few weeks I'll be making up my mind if I'm going to get a orange terror 500, I always loved the aggression and dirty tone I can get out of those things, but 1st.

Will my cabs sound okay with them? They are a peavey headliner 410 and 210, I know they'll handle the watts perfectly but some heads just don't mix with some cabinets well. I think they'll sound pretty good together but just wanted to see if anyone knows for a fact.

If not what cabs do you think would work?im thinking hartke hydrive 410 or gk neo 410 but if I won't be able to get my hands on one of these for a while (which I won't be since I'm a teenager that can't really get a job right now, unless it can get them as a gift)

I've used my TB500 through a bunch of different cabs and it sounded pretty good to me no matter what I plugged into with the exception of an Ampeg 410 (8ohm cab, not sure exactly what model). You'll be okay me thinks. Be careful with your volume levels if you run both those cabs together. The 210 speakers will be receiving twice the power as the speakers in the 410 making them more vulnerable. It's only an issue if you start cranking it.

I just got my TB500! But can't play yet since I'm still looking for a cab. Both obc410 and obc115 are available used in my area. I'm not sure if I should get the 410, or get one obc 115 for now and maybe add another 115 later when I have the money. The 115 would be lighter to transport though.

I use two OBC410s and love 'em but, yeah, they are very heavy and the handles are not very ergonomic.

I could also save the hassle of buying used and get an Ashdown 410h, it's pretty tempting to be honest. I liked the way it sounded at the store and wasn't too heavy to pick up. Maybe I'll go back and try it again tomorrow and make a decision.

Got the ashdown! It sounds pretty amazing to me, big upgrade compared to my 100w ampeg cl stack! On the way home I already made some scratches on the back of the cab.. I'll be laying a blanket underneath from now on. But oh well it's going to get some scratches on the tolex anyway if I'm going to gig with it. And it wouldn't be very punk without scratches right.

Any Orange club dudes willing to part with an SP212? My current rig is TB500 and a single SP212. Really want to double up on those cabs.

edit: I've been through the TB classifieds and there were a few up for grabs a little while ago but I just didn't have the $$ to pull the trigger at the time. But that's all changed now!!Trying hard to avoid buying new again.

The 410 will get louder and deeper - but I think I do prefer the tone of the 115. I made the slight mistake of getting both. The 115 was the first purchase and is a great sounding cab, but a 410 came up used at a price I couldn't say no to and I was also looking for more volume. My thought process was that I would play the 410 for sets mainly, and the 115 would be added when I really needed more volume. At the time I wasn't aware of the faux pas (and actual science issues) of mismatched cabs. That said, that is how I play my cabs these days - I play the 410 out and save the 115 additional for outdoor sets or bigger stages. It works well enough as long as I put the 15 on top, make sure I'm not making it sweat too much and give that one the mic preference as the 410s are not working as hard at that point. It does give me increased volume, it's just not terribly ideal.

And yes, the 115 is much easier to transport. My guitarist complains when I bring the 410 and he has to help move it. If I bring both cabs - I never hear the end of it. ;)

My quest was really similar: I first got the 410 at a really low-you-can't-say-no price and then I got a new 115 (because they are cheaper) with the intention on doubling on both someday and use one or the other according to the gig.
The guitar player part is the opposite though: I don't like pairing them because it is not optimal, but my guitarist keeps insisting I bring both cabs to gigs because he likes me being louder (weirdo!).
I might get another 115 someday. If I hit it big I would love to add another 410 or a fridge, biamping and using the 10s for the clean and the 15s for the grit!

Looking for a little info.

I just picked up a BT1000. I run it into my GB F212 and I am quite happy with the tone.

Question. I get a popping noise when switching on and off a SA Soundblox bass modulation pedal. I do not get a pop when turning on or off other pedals. I do not get the pop turning the SA mod pedal on and off when plugged into my Demeter pre/QSC power rig.
Any thoughts?

With the Demeter it's ok, but it might just be the way the amps rect to voltage changes.

What I am beginning to think is that there is a cap or something on the input of the Demeter that is not on the BT1000. Of course I may be totally wrong. I will also experiment with batteries if possible.
