Official Orange Club II

For me I like the long form factor as I can stack 2 of them vertically as well as horizontally much like my TC RS210's. I also like that I can take them to shows where I may not want to take my OBC115's due to certain logistics. I'm well aware of the OBC112 and have been curious about them, but I really don't need any cabs right now. The price and the look of the OBC210 Mini does have me thinking though for the reasons stated above.
Makes sense. Cheers! Something I need to contemplate. :)

Is your OBC210 similarly voiced as the OBC410 minus the extra fullness from the extra speakers? I think the OBC210 Mini may be voiced quite differently due to the box dimensions. It would be cool if someone who has one could give their take on it.

It is very similar to my 410, it is not exactly the same, but close enough. The mini is supposed to be not that far, but without a horn.

Regarding the OBC210, out of curiosity – where does the interest stem from? Orange-wise, there's a (much) lighter-weight alternative in the OBC112, which should move at least as much air as the 210, comparing the LaVoce and Eminence data sheets. Does this look interesting to you guys as an add-on to a 410 or 115, or on the lines of a vertical 2x210s stack? Or do you prefer the longish form-factor for transportation?

I must add I definitely am biased as I really enjoy my OBC112, and never cared for 210 to begin with. But I often see 210s touted here on TB, so I wonder what the deal is. :)

I just want another 210 because I don't like mixing speakers. If I use all my cabs, I want consistency and if I use just one I want it to be close in sound to what I usually have.
The 112 would be nice for home though.

Snagged a 210 mini to haul to practices. Mighty little cab it is. I may grab another and use as a vertical 410 stack.

I kind of figured that as those cabs aren't known for handling much power. Could you please describe the tone from it? I've been tempted on getting a pair.
Did a quick dirty video of each cab using a Darkglass Microtubes 500 and Squier Classic Vibe 70's P bass with brand new flats. All settings the same through all cabs. I included the Darkglass DG212N because it was in the same room.

Wow, was not expecting a video. Thank you very much, that helps a lot. Now to go home and hear with some good cans.

Yes, that's what I'm talking about!
(also, I always play that riff when testing something XD )
Orange has a bit more definition than the Ampeg, but they are not bad at all. Darkglass sounds very clear to me, meaty, I guess it's the bigger drivers.

Just turned on my AD200B and had very low output volume.
Checked everything and its the amp.
Its about 7 years old with original tubes, would a single power
tube failure cause almost no output volume?
Also, if so, I probably replace with a complete set.
Whats the best sounding / performing tube set for this amp>
HALP :)

A tube failing would probably cause a drop in volume. I use TAD KT88s. They are worth the money: musical, clear, great headroom/volume and they are yet to fail me. I retube every three years (never wait for them to fail).
I am actually due this year, but I'm a little overspent, so I'll have to wait.
I have a brand new Orange DIVO unit in a drawer. If it fits inside my Amp maybe I should install it and save some money on retubing.

Thanks TNR, so the DIVO kit allows you to set the bias / output on a computer extending the life? never seen
that unit it looks interesting but seems to be unavailable after a quick G search. I still have the original set in my SVT VR and its about 8 years old. Guess its time to invest in a new set for the Orange.

It bias automatically to peak efficiency around 50mA, when there's sound, and near 0 without (or you can make a custom bias setting on a computer with the right interface and software). It is supposed to extend valve life, but what I find better is, if there's a faulty valve, you don't have to buy quartets or even pairs, you just swap the one, since they don't need to be matched. Yeah, Orange doesn't sell them anymore, but I think there's a TubeSync version.
